At first we we were super in awe of the cabins, very cute and close to the park entrance. We came up for a weekend with a group of ten, 8 adults and 2 children, and rented four separate cabins. Our first day was great and the second day was going well until the owners came over in a very accusatory fashion. The first night a few of us gathered in one room, 6 people, to play some games. We played until 11:00 then went back to our separate cabins and went to sleep. The owners approached us to let us know they had received a noise complaint from the night before for being a little bit loud which we agreed with but the fashion in which they did was extremely rude and included exaggerations that we had been up until 1:00 and that there were eight of us staying in a four person cabin, even though that wasn’t true and we had actually made the reservation for more people then we had. We apologized for being loud and took responsibility for that but we also tried to clarify that the story they were told was not the truth, although they did not care to hear that. We were extremely upfront beforehand and said that we were coming up with a group of ten to celebrate a birthday, if they had a problem with a group that large they should have mentioned something when we were booking. There were also no quiet hours posted anywhere or included in any of the introductory info. I am not denying that we were a little loud but the method in which we were approached was extremely rude. After bringing up the noise complaint they also brought up the fact that we had a four and six year old kicking around a soccer play in an extremely open area when no one else was around, mentioning that they thought we would just be sleeping in the cabins and not spending so much time at the lodge. Overall the approach made us not feel welcome and made our second night extremely awkward. We actually had a group end up leaving early because they no longer felt comfortable staying in the rooms we had paid for. The cabins are set up with an open inviting nature that looks like a place to gather with friends and family but beware that it is all a front and if you want to socialize you are probably better off staying elsewhere. Overall there were a lot of rules and we were extremely courteous and tried to do our best to follow them all, we left our dishes in our rooms, we didn’t smoke, we didn’t have pets, we cleaned our cabins and followed all check out procedures, and only people who had rooms with hot tubs used them. It was definitely a shame because we were already planning on coming back and recommending it to friends before being...
Read moreBook Now!! Stone Creek Lodge at Mt. Rainier is a perfect 10! We already miss it and we have only been home for 1 day. We miss the Lodge, but we really miss talking to Joe and Bob and their amazing hospitality. I honestly don't know if we have ever felt so welcomed and comfortable at a place like we did here. Super easy to book your stay. Then once you arrive, check-in is just as easy and Joe even walked us to our cabin, explained how everything worked and to just ask if we had any questions/concerns. It is super clean, quaint and has everything you need! Loved that there was no TV and this is coming from someone who watches it everyday. It is refreshing and energizing not having distractions like that and makes you refocus. We only stayed for 3 nights, but wish it was longer. We traveled to North Cascades National Park, Mt. Rainier National Park and Olympic National Park while we were in Washington. We ended up staying at 4 different places during our vacation. Stone Creek Lodge was hands down our favorite place out of all of them. We reserved the Cascade Cabin and it had a private hot tub. It was wonderful after hiking all day. It is the cleanest hot tub I had ever seen or been in. So refreshing to get in after a long day. The grounds/property are impeccably maintained with beautiful landscaping. Parking is adjacent to your cabin and ample. We always come overly prepared for trips, but if you needed anything all you have to do is ask! I could write a book about this place and have already gone on too long. But lastly I just wanted to say what makes this place so fantastic, is not just the Lodge (which is perfect), it is the owners, Joe and Bob. They had a campfire every single night we were there and it was so much fun and was one of our favorite parts. Joe and Bob are so friendly, funny and knowledgeable about the area. Any question you have they will answer. Especially about hiking! Any hike you are thinking about doing, one of them has probably done. They have the perfect recommendations for hiking (just tell them what you are looking for). We are so very thankful that we found Stone Creek Lodge at Mt. Rainier. And can only hope that we are lucky enough one day to return and get to interact with Joe and Bob and experience their wonderful cabins/property and the majestic Mt. Rainier National...
Read moreWe stayed here in the first week of June 2018. These cabins are the second closest lodging to the park entrance (about 1 minute away) and in my opinion, truly the best place to stay in the whole area! The owners, who live on the premises, meet you as you pull in. They take you to your room, show you around, and answer any questions you have. They are very nice and easy to talk to! There is a designated parking spot for each room, so there is never a question of finding a good parking spot. The room had a queen bed, a kitchenette, a small breakfast table, a dresser chest and two night stands. We had plenty of room for everything we needed. Everything in here was nice, well thought out and in good repair. The use of wood furniture was a beautiful touch to make the room feel more cabin-like, that including the smell of fresh wood! The temperature is controlled by a gas fireplace in the room, which adds to the cabin's ambiance. A huge pro is that there is no television. You are in nature! It is beautiful, No need for a television. The bathroom was recently remodeled. It was very nice to have a natural "woodsy" cabin but also the comforts of an updated bathroom! There are even hot tubs that are nice and well maintained. 2 cabins share 1 hot tub. It was actually nice after a long day of hiking to sit in the hot tub under the stars- made for a peaceful, relaxing night. The common area is large, well maintained, & has a lovely fire pit in the center. We spent a night sitting around the fire chatting with the owners and other guests! They even provided s'mores! What was also nice, is that during conversation, the owners were interested in what we looked for while booking and things we liked or didn't like; all with the goal to improve themselves as a lodge. Little things like these really added up to make for a beautiful and comfortable stay! They are really amazing! Definitely recommend to anyone and everyone. When we come back to visit the National Park, there is no question, we will definitely...
