After being a loyal customer for 20 years I will not be returning. Unfortunately this place has become more about money and employees then the customer and animals. 1. They CHANGED the tram rides. Now if u have a hour or two drive with ur children to get there. Then now you are expected to get there and board a tram for 45min within 30min of arriving so if your kids excited to see animals or run round on playground forget it cuz they don't want to work late so they make you instantly do your tram ride very upsetting if planning on eating lunch or getting energy out first we always finish our trip with the tram for 20 years! No don't say it's easier or smarter because if it worked for 20 years don't break it. Now we can't finish our trip like we always have. 2. We put up with the 11$ pretzel with cheese the 7 SMALL fry not "family size" and half the animals being not able to see but let people choose there damn tram! Oh and 3. when we arrived I had an employee look me up and down and judge my weight based on where to put me shoved in a seat with 4 other full grown adults. 4.Then I say no we aren't going to do tram it's too full and they are very pushy that we get on in the tiny lil bench that shouldn't be a seat for adults! Anxiety and anger the whole ride and your offer to ride the tram again to make up for our bad experience if ridiculous you should allow people to change there time if they request even if your aren't offering to everyone at the park if someone has a problem with it fix it in the first place not make them go and cause all this! 5. The only thing my daughter lives with this stupid 25$ raccoon which the lady cuts the tag off in front of you which we did not ask you to do but to top it off after 2 days the string is coming undone and now it has a hole so don't waste your money they aren't made good anymore they cheaped out and made changes to make park better and now I will not be returning as I hope many other people do not as well when they go and see how much it sucks now. 6. The employees spend more walking around touring themselves then doing q n a or talking about animals we were there almost 5 hours and were offered to look at a claw that's it and they starting closing park around 3pm when got slow so it's obvious you guys are just being lazy about tam and being able to see animals. Stop with the automatic doors and third snack stand and seating area this place was classic and you all ruined it. They sold out. ๐๐๐ต๐คฌ Also 7. I'm putting an MIA on your "moose" post a pic if you see if cuz I've gone 5 times a year for 5 years and have never ever seen the moose! U see a swan a goat a bison and a deer or elk that's it don't do the tram also they never...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place is great! Almost gave a five star. Hereโs the Pros & Cons from our first experience: Cons: A lady today got scared on the zip lining and Iโm almost positive she didnโt receive a refund. She had a son who was CRUSHED he couldnโt finish without her. This may be a policy, but I think itโd be fantastic for business if the people who get nervous either get a partial refund or something towards the next visit. If you get scared, youโre just out of a decent bit of money. Secondly, this same Mom & Son was ahead of me by four or more people in the cafe. All they ordered was ice cream and I got my burger and ice cream before her. I mentioned to the cafe crew and they kinda brushed it off until she came up. I felt so bad for her. They also forgot my drink and werenโt the happiest bunch. I realize itโs busy, summer and itโs not the most fun job, but a smile goes a long way! Also, the options were limited. The animals were great from what I saw, but donโt get there late or theyโre all napping! And a log broke on the most challenging zip line! Eeek! So definitely want a double safety check to ensure your patrons are safe.
Pros: Though pricey, everyone loved the zip lining. And thereโs waiting between which is good for recovery before going again. So many challenges. Thereโs different levels and thatโs awesome too! The kidโs park is awesome! Like a little mini adventure area. The animals we did see were gorgeous. The burgers at the cafe werenโt five star, but not bad. The fries were actually great as was the ice cream! A clean park, clean bathrooms and nice souvenir shop. The birds were breathtaking. We saw one devouring itโs meal! And the bears were awesome. The guides we ran into were all helpful, informative and kind. I like thereโs free parking even if itโs a bit of a walk from some lots. Not too bad though! One guide gave us lots of great facts about the animals. I really wish we could have done the part where you drive through and see the animals but the zip lining took half the day. I heard great things about it from other people there.
So ultimately a GREAT trip! I think coupon days and military/first responders/firefighters etc. days or discounts would be amazing too. Or large family discount days? Just an idea. Hope this helps. Keep up the good work on the wonderful park and maybe tweak a couple small things to make it that much...
ย ย ย Read moreNorthwest Trek is truly a gem in the Pacific Northwest and an experience that feels both adventurous and educational from start to finish. The highlight of our visit was hands down the tram tour. It was not only relaxing and comfortable but also incredibly informative. The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, pointing out different animals along the way while sharing fun facts and deeper insights into their behaviors, habitats, and conservation efforts. Watching bison, moose, elk, and other wildlife roaming freely in such a large natural setting felt like stepping into their world, and it was fascinating to see them so close in a way that felt authentic and respectful.
The entire park itself is beautifully maintainedโclean, safe, and thoughtfully laid out. Walking through the different areas, it was clear how much care goes into keeping the grounds well-manicured and welcoming. Each habitat was designed with the animals in mind, and the variety is impressive: from native predators like cougars, wolves, and bears to smaller but equally interesting creatures like beavers, otters, and owls. Every corner offered something new to discover.
Another pleasant surprise was the pricing. For the quality of the experienceโespecially considering the tram tour is includedโthe admission felt very fair. Itโs rare to find a park that balances affordability with such a high standard of care, education, and presentation.
Northwest Trek is the kind of place you can enjoy whether youโre coming as a family, couple, or even solo. Itโs both entertaining and enlightening, and I left with a deeper appreciation for Pacific Northwest wildlife. Absolutely worth the trip and highly...
