thank you to the entire crew and management staff of the Grand Prairie location. I am new to shooting guns. And I came in on a conviction that I need to learn so that I can protect my family from the absolute worst outcome that may happen throughout the course of life. My goal was to become licensed to carry. Once I decided I was serious I asked a friend what to do and he sudjusted try A gun range. So I ask around and fingers pointed to shootsmart. Things that I like about shootsmart at Grand Prairie: #1 I liked that it was so close to my house. #2 Everyone there was very helpful and very knowledgeable. #3 training is excellent ps. (David Watson) trained me two days in a row on target shooting and gun handling. I noticed an immediate difference in my shooting and I saw a Patten to develop that helped me realize what I was doing wrong."so Shootsmart employee's are incredibly assistful and think of the best ways to help there customers" #4 they are willing to work with their customers on expensive gun purchases. I purchased my first gun from them. #5 and I feel this should be much higher on the list but here you go every time you come in every employee welcomes you and as I've started to go more often they have mostly come to know me on a first name bases. (((((Micah))))) and ((((((Matt))))) these two men and the others that haven't been mentioned yet call me by my first and sometimes first and last names as I'm walking in the door with a friendly greeting. They are happy to see me. That is big to me. I don't know about the rest of the world but it makes a big difference in my overall opinion about a place of business when you are treated with respect and kindness. I'm so thankful for the staff and proud to say that I have successfully completed and passed the LTC (License to Carry) class and am taking the next appropriate steps towards getting my license. These employee's of shootsmart are very knowledgeable and encouraging and have been tremendous during my entire experience. I feel I have a place to go to now to shoot and have lots of fun. (Emmanuel) is great and thank you to the man manager whose name slips my mind right now in which helped me submit a form online to the DPS in which helps me get my LTC. That manager I believe is an assistant manager and he's the big buff dude if that helps the store any to give him credit where credit is do. Again every last person including the gun Smith that put on my new "Glock 19", night sights is amazing! I am pro Shoot Smart. As a new person who started off nervous and is now confident and comfortable shooting I would encourage anyone to go to shootsmart. I waited this long really to make a comment about them because I was waiting to build a repor with them and it seams I have. So much that I am proud to leave...

Shoot Smart: Thank you for taking the time to reply back. I went here again with my "adopted daughter" last Sunday who had been begging me for a week to take her shooting and it was a total 180 compared to my first experience. This tells me changes have been made and the issue has been addressed. I intentionally did not take the offer of a free range day because I wanted to see how things would be without prior notice and was not dissapointed.
After having a crazy long week I decided to come here and blow off some steam in a healthy way. The facility itself was very clean and nice which would have made it a great place to shoot but then there was the staff. Being a veteran I love ranges and gunshops and almost always end up striking at least a small conversation with the employees but not here. When I first walked in I just got a "what the hell are you doing here?" feeling from the staff. On the line I dismissed this as just my bad week catching up with me and blew the thought off. On the way out I noticed some Hornady Critical Defense ammo that I was goning to buy later but thought I might as well buy it now since it's right in front of me. I picked up the box and stood inline (moving further away from the exit) behind some customers who had came in. Immidately the female employee asks me "are you buying that?" which pretty much tells me she was watching me the whole time. I ended up buying the ammo and just went about my day as I'm not a confrontational person. The attitude of the staff and the feeling of being watched for no apparent reason made me too uncomfortable to go to this...
Read moreHad an appointment for LTC class at 8 AM at Grand Prairie location. Google maps take you to a different address behind the building. Kept calling the location for directions but no one picked up. When ultimately found the location, the door was locked. There was no doorbell. After knocking Multiple times someone opened, and took me to a room where supervisor (I think the name was Ryan) was sitting. By this time it was 8:10 AM. Supervisor said I'll have to reschedule because I'm late. Mentioned that the safety brief is already done. I told him about the above situation, and the fact that no one was picking of phone at the location. He mentioned he will ask the instructor, And for me to wait outside saying, the instructor is in the middle of a safety brief right now. Even though few minutes ago he had Just said the safety brief is over.10 minutes later, he came outside without asking anybody, And told me the instructor will not take you. I asked him if he had even talked to the instructor he said no, but I know that he will not. I asked him why he made me wait for 10 minutes to tell me this, he had no answer. I told him again, that I was here on time except Google Maps took me to the wrong place behind the building and no one here was picking up the phone. He mentioned he has "been here Since 7 o'clock but no one called". I showed him the call records on my phone, to which she said "maybe your signal was bad".This is the level of customer service supervisor provides. Woke up early, and wasted a Sunday morning for this. -- ON TOP THEY MARKED THE GROUPON AS REDEEMED AND DO NOT RESPOND...
