This place was a very pleasant surprise and a very informative museum. The Lost Railroad refers to the interurban passenger system that once ran across the bottom of southern Michigan from Lake Erie to Lake Michigan. The virtual train ride was a hoot and a half. This is not a expansive place but we spent a leisurely hour there wondering through the museum, watching an introduction video, viewing the exhibits and riding the Virtual train. Very fun!
There is no admission or even a suggested donation but it seems to me five to ten bucks a head would go a long way to keep the lights and heat on here. The team of Lost RR volunteers should be proud of what they have accomplished! Whole...

Read moreA well-produced intro video (approx 8 minutes long) set the stage upon entering the museum. Overall, there is a lot of interesting information about the interurban railway throughout the museum. Restored rail cars you can go into really help get the feel of what it would have been like to be a passenger.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It will take about an hour at most to see everything. Free to enter, but donations are suggested. It's probably not the best place for only very young kids, but 3rd or 4th grade and up would manage just fine. There is a...
