This place was a very pleasant surprise and a very informative museum. The Lost Railroad refers to the interurban passenger system that once ran across the bottom of southern Michigan from Lake Erie to Lake Michigan. The virtual train ride was a hoot and a half. This is not a expansive place but we spent a leisurely hour there wondering through the museum, watching an introduction video, viewing the exhibits and riding the Virtual train. Very fun!

There is no admission or even a suggested donation but it seems to me five to ten bucks a head would go a long way to keep the lights and heat on here. The team of Lost RR volunteers should be proud of what they have accomplished! Whole...

It is worth the drive to Grass Lake, MI, to take a "ride" on the Lost Railway! This alternative mode of transportation ran alongside our larger railway trains to select destinations. Although it provided safe and much needed access to key locations, it only existed until the first automobiles drove into towns here in MI. Admission is free with donations welcomed. As a Michigander, it was great to see how, again, a few individuals thought "outside the box" to meet a need for yet another mode of transportation. So this summer, as you look for something to do, take I-94 West or go West on Michigan Ave (US 12) to Grass Lake. The Lost Railway Museum is a must-see! You'll be...

A well-produced intro video (approx 8 minutes long) set the stage upon entering the museum. Overall, there is a lot of interesting information about the interurban railway throughout the museum. Restored rail cars you can go into really help get the feel of what it would have been like to be a passenger.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. It will take about an hour at most to see everything. Free to enter, but donations are suggested. It's probably not the best place for only very young kids, but 3rd or 4th grade and up would manage just fine. There is a...

Took my grandchild here today and WOW what a great place to visit. The history was neat to learn. Our favorite part was the interactive ride, it honestly felt like you were riding the rail line. It felt so real that their eyes got HUGE when we started "moving." The gentleman working was great as well. Very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient with all the questions my grandchild asked. I highly recommend and I'll be visiting again

Visited on a Free Museum Saturday. We got to Lost Railway a little late and missed the tours but still managed to figure out the layout. There was a video presentation but many unruly kids, neither patents now museum attendant were really asking the kids to slow down or cease the crank of the car bell. It just echoed bad. It's a good education in local history and how the automotive industry impacted the local economy.
