I think the owner(s) need to invest in some acoustic tiles as the volume is nearly unbearable when the dining room is full of people who have no sense of common courtesy.

It only takes one person talking at volumes appropriate for a NASCAR race for things to get out of hand before others start matching and exceeding their absurd volumes.

Our server was fairly good at keeping our drinks replenished at first but that was the extent of her abilities.

After a short wait, we were seated and she stopped by in a reasonable amount of time before taking our drink orders. After another short wait, she took our food orders. And that is where things went even further downhill.

After about a half an hour, she stopped by to ask what we’d ordered. After a bit longer, we were finally able to get her attention and inquired about our order and she said that it was backed up because an order for a large group (8 people) seated outside had gone in. (Which is interesting given the fact that they’d been seated long after we had ordered)

After about an hour after ordering and her rushing by our table like a bank robber, we stopped her and asked if we could get our meal to go. (Had we had something at the house for dinner, we would have paid for our drinks and left) It was at that point she totally ignored us.

Finally, after approximately an hour and 15 minutes, she brought out our two dinners.

What’s interesting is that a table of 6, who’d been seated about 15 minutes after us, got their food, ate it and was able to depart before our meals even arrived.

Had the server just kept us informed of the situation, we may have felt differently. But once she knew how disappointed we were, she refused to even acknowledge our existence. A simple “sorry” would have been greatly appreciated.

Between the atmosphere and service, I can safely say we will never return to this restaurant. Which is a shame because the area could use a well run...

5 stars on the drink selection and execution too! This is the place Grass Lake has been waiting decades to enjoy, as evidenced by the long wait times! My wife and I waited 50 minutes on Friday 2-24-25, but the wait was worth it. Morgan was our server and she was great - on top of all of the tables she was responsible for, she never made us feel like were we not her priority. The music was awesome. Plenty of TVs to watch whatever was going on in the sports world. For drinks we ordered a Lemondrop and a smoked Old Fashion, and we were excited to have Michelob Ultra on draft! Both cocktails were made perfectly. The food was good...although not as warm as it could have been. We ordered the Margarita Flatbread and the Smoked BBQ Chicken sliders. Again, the taste was very good, just a bit colder than we expected. We suspect that if there were a dedicated food-runner, instead of having the table-server bring the food, it may have made a difference. Just a theory. All in all, this place was fantastic. We will definitely...

From the moment I walked in the door, I liked Prates Place. I was greeted by two hostess that were very welcoming, friendly and professional. After being seated I was quickly greeted by the bartender. I ordered an Old Fashioned, it was perfectly made. I definitely would recommend it. They also had other craft cocktails and a good selection of draft and bottled beers. I wanted to try them all!!

For food I ordered the Nachos with smoked chicken .It was fantastic, some of the best I have ever had. Very tasty.

Also decided to try out their pizza. It was very good. Just the right amount of toppings and sauce.

I also had a chance to chat with the owners, kitchen manager and the front of house manager. I was very impressed with how nice and welcoming they all were.

I highly recommend Prates Place. It will be a great addition to the downtown area...

We just had apps and some drinks. The nachos were pretty bland. The chips were the best part. The pork had no flavor and the jalapeno had zero heat. The queso didn't do anything for the nachos either. The spinach and artichoke dip was tasty but it had so much cheese, it ended up tasting like cheese bread. Also the triangles were cut super narrow instead of wide like a tortilla chip so it was really hard to scoop the dip. Not sure why they cut the strips so narrow. The drinks were OK. The whiskey sour was very wine forward (suppose to have a splash) so wasn't my cup of tea. My wife said the margarita was decent but the rum punch wasn't very sweet so it was just OK. Maybe will try again for dinner sometime.

Soft Opening Night at Prates Place in Grass Lake! 🍽️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ WOW—what an experience! The modern contemporary design is sleek yet warm, with every detail thoughtfully curated. The kid-friendly loft space is a lifesaver for folks with little ones or angsty teens who want their space as Mom and Dad enjoy a nightcap cocktail, post Dinner. From the ingenious play on classic dishes to the creative and refreshing craft cocktails, every bite and sip was perfection. It’s the kind of place where you can relax as a family or enjoy a stylish night out. Can’t wait to go back once they officially open! Highly recommend checking it out! 💯🎯👏🏼
