We recently had the pleasure of spending an afternoon at a Greensboro park (name not specified, but this review applies to several fantastic ones!). Honestly, I was blown away. This isn't just a park; it's a destination for the whole family. First off, the playground is simply fantastic. It's clean, well-maintained, and has a variety of equipment that kept the kids entertained for hours. It’s clear the city takes pride in its parks. The cleanliness extends to the entire grounds, which is a huge plus. Beyond the playground, the park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. The walking trails are beautifully kept, offering a serene escape perfect for a peaceful stroll or a brisk walk. For those who prefer wheels, the biking trails are equally impressive, providing a great workout with scenic views. But what truly sets this park apart are the unique amenities. The pedal board rentals are a brilliant idea, adding a fun and active element to the experience. We had a blast gliding across the water. And you absolutely cannot miss the giant 5-person swing! It's an absolute must-do, providing endless laughter and a memorable photo op. This park is a testament to Greensboro's commitment to creating high-quality, community-focused spaces. It has something for everyone and is a perfect example of what a city park should be. We will definitely be back!

This park is truly wonderful. My wife and I walk it nearly every day. It has a beautiful lake with a lower and upper half, and lots of cute ducks and geese. In the spring and summer you can often see baby ducks and goslings. There are plenty of benches and picnic tables, a surprisingly good sno cone place that's only open on weekends, a zip line that you can take if you pay at the science center nearby, there's of course the science center itself though you need to enter via nearby Lawndale Rd. to get in, there's a nice playground with decent bathrooms, a wooden swing with a beautiful view of the lake, a dog park, an inspiration garden, and more. It even connects directly to the military park nearby, and my understanding is that you can walk all the way down to the Greensboro sports center if you walk far enough, but we've never tried. It's a beautiful place, with so many fun things to do and see. Best of all, it's mostly closed to cars and away from roads so you can usually walk without worry. I do wish it was completely closed to cars, though.

This gem is a great place for the while family, including dogs. There is a playground for younger folks, pedal boats, a zip line, dog parks (with a separate one for smaller dogs), picnic shelters (reservations recommended), fishing, a shaved ice stand, a large loop for walking or jogging, or bicycling, and a tram if you just want to ride and enjoy the view. Country Park is located adjacent to the national park for the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, where you can easily absorb some local history if you're in the mood, and to the Greensboro Science Center if you like wild animals, an amazing aquarium, and feel like walking in the treetops at Sky Wild.

This is the Natural Science Center expanded! Hadn't been here since the late 80s! Very nice! We loved the dinosaur stuff! Especially the ones where they look like they are visiting you! We have one pic of two dinosaurs looking like they are checking out my mom's purse nd one is perched perfectly on one of the wheels of her wheelchair! I have to be honest. The "Dinosaurs at Dusk" was really, REALLY lame. The quality was VERY poor, story line was pointless and not a lot of dinosaurs in it. But it was air conditioned! If you don't snore, heck even if you do- get a short nap in! The snoring will at least entertain the rest of the people trying to clearly see a horrible show they waited patiently to see! The Aquarium was nice. Not awesome. 75% of the time I couldn't see the creatures. The penguin and the stingrays pool was cool! The creatures even looked like they were having fun, zooming within everybody's reach so they could feel their squishy-ness! (There is a clean up sink for sanitizing hands after the interaction.) The gift shop ABSOLUTELY needs a different layout! No one could get around or OUT! Tshirt rack was right in the path to leave the store, so people would be seeing which t-shirt they wanted, blocking everyone's exit. The exhibits outside were not that impressive. They didn't seem like they mattered to anyone. Not in shambles,...

Overall Country Park is a decent park, nice place to take a walk or take your dog to the dog park. The only gripe I have with the park is that they do not have any type of rules/code of conduct of how people should treat one another while in the park. I have witnessed many people being very disrespectful and threatening towards others. In one incident, a family member of mine sat down on a bench to fix her shoe and next to her was a young women watching tv on her mobile device, she asked us if we could be quiet in a very aggressive tone of voice even though we were not loud at all, and we were going to continue walking in a few seconds anyway. Keep in mind that the park was full of people and kids screaming and playing all around us. But instead of calmly waiting for us to walk away in a few seconds, she got very aggressive, started cussing and then proceeded to threaten my family member saying she would shoot them. If country park is okay with allowing that type of behavior in a family friendly park then I would recommend families go to a different park. There is already enough violence in our world and people should feel safe enough to go enjoy themselves in a public park with their families instead of feeling like they might get shot if they sit on the...
