This is a solid little city park. I took lots of pictures because, well it’s scenic! It’s the middle of winter now, so the tall, marshy grasses have died back, but it has a lovely walking path, playground & basketball court. Because it’s apparently in a high flood zone, the city works hard to prevent erosion & all signs pointed to improvement efforts when I visited recently. I really appreciate the raised bed community garden, started by Colorado State, and all of the plaques about nature along the walking path. Whether you homeschool your kids, just want to teach them more, or love to learn yourself, they are a nice addition...
Read moreSilo Park is near a lake, stunning, and primed for hosting. There's a wonderful space within the barn that can be easily repurposed into a birthday or anniversary party. Just bring some decorations, games, and a few friends! Voila! The community garden is also a lovely touch, greatly enhancing the ambiance, but be sure not to pick anything -- it isn't for public use. Oh, and the park itself is obviously magnificent! The kids always seem to have a marvelous time playing on the safe, colorful equipment. Read moreDecided to come by here on a winter’s day. The barn is cool and I can see how it could get full during nicer weather with people going and quickly filling up that small parking lot. There is a walking path, but it’s fairly short and we found ourselves crossing into the parks nearby in order to get a little more of a walk-in. The walking path is also a bit narrow so when people walked past, we had to try to compress ourselves. There appear to be bathrooms but I didn’t see if they were open.
