Santa Beach — Attraction in Guánica

Great beach!! Wonderfully secluded so it’s not overcrowded. There are some small local eateries and places to get food, drinks and small needed things while at the beach. There is a place to put boats and water sports toys in the water right around the corner from the beach. Lots of shaded areas if you forget an umbrella but need it as desperately as I do. There are a lot of animas that roam the beach like dogs and cats but most seem to be owed by the locals and they are super friendly and they don’t bother anyone, they tend to just like to play in the water. Playa Santa is a decent beach to go to if you are in the area and don't feel like driving to another part of the island to go to a different beach. It's a little dirty however there are a couple of nice bars right next to the beach and also some places to eat. I wouldn't reccomend going on the weekends unless you enjoy being completely squished on a beach in between large groups of people who each are blasting really loud music, however the week days are usually pretty empty and are a nice time to go if you have kids or would like to just relax for a while. Overall it's not a bad beach to go to if your already in the area but if you want a really nice beach I would suggest...

It’s nice enough specially since walking distance from my AirB&B but definitely needs some clean up. This beach (like many here) is regularly beside an active (party) night life & the trash is left to show. There are plenty of trash AND recycling bins, not all full, but people don’t want to take their trash to them. Early every Monday morning as I walk to the beach there are local business owners trying to keep at least the areas around their place cleaned up but it’s not their job to clean up after their customers on the beach.
