Amazing space, hard to get too which means only dedicated people are here. Dog friendly, every dog was on their best behavior. Wide sandy strip, tall cliffs. See the pictures. Plenty of parking on the gravel lot. Nice trails, may not be very suitable for biking if you get off...

This is a great beach to view from the top of the cliffs. There is no access to the sand from the cliffs. No bathroom/no parking. Views are great. Terrific spot to watch...

I’m stoked to partner with a nonprofit that champions the protection of open spaces for the benefit of everyone! Here’s your guide to explore POST’s hiking guides and resources:  🥾 Trail: Wavecrest & Coastal Trail, Half Moon Bay.   🅿️ Fee: Free. Park in the lot by the baseball fields at the end of Wavecrest Rd. This is just south of Poplar state beach.    🐶 Friendly: Dogs are allowed on leash    📅 Best times to visit: Year-round.  Difficulty: Easy. 2 miles.    ⛰️ Elevation: Flat  👦 👶 friendly: Highly kid-friendly. 💡 Tips: Find the tree tunnel (and fort) on this tree line: (37.4487730, -122.4412570). Paste these in to Google Maps; it’s not easy to share any other way!  🐳 Wildlife observed: Whales, owls, harbor seals, pelicans, and hawks.    🎒 Gear: long pants to help prevent ticks in the tall grass (be careful)! It gets very windy so wear layers and gear that protects against wind. 🌞 Shade: mostly exposed but a few rows of shade. Make sure to always bring water.   Tips: Great to combine with a beach day or natural bridges further south in Santa Cruz. Downtown Half Moon Bay is also super fun.    📱 Cell Reception: present everywhere   🙏: Always leave no trace.  🌲You can find details about hikes like Wavecrest, nature events, and informative blogs from POST on their website.  #IKnowAPlacePOST #bayareahikes #bayareahiking #bayareahikers
