Paradise Pools and Spa, Inc. — Attraction in Hamburg

This place has the worst customer service as well as services. My parents bought a brand new pool went to this pool location and they destroyed their pool. The service reps advised us to put all these chemicals into the pool even after my parents explained that it was impossible the pool should need that much chemicals (16 lbs). But the rep insisted they knew better. Needless to say, my parents went ahead and put the chemicals into the pool. The pool went from crystal clear to cloudy to green to neon yellow. When my parents went back after it started to change. The rep said oh we had the wrong pool size in our system and information due to our computer having an error. They yet again stated to add more chemicals to reverse what they originally told my parents. Yet again, against my parents better judgement, they added more chemicals.

That’s when the pool went from just cloudy to green my father spent numerous hours trying to back wash out the chemicals, as well as vacuuming the caped up chunks that Plastered to the bottom of the pool. He even called this horrific place numerous times asking for their assistance. Each time they denied it was their fault and that my parents now must have broke the filter/fan, the vacuum was broken, or the filter was shot. My parents once again explained this was a brand new pool and even all our neighbors who have pools stated that what they told to us to put into their pool was absolutely incorrect.

On top of the horrific cloudiness my parents still trying to do business with this incompetent place ordered a brand new state approved ladder and had this place put it together. They didn’t even do that accurately. The ladder’s base part is not sturdy to the ground, and they workers stripped the screws to hold the platform. The platform now cannot be adjusted up and down as it normally would have been able to.

My family is completely dissatisfied, has tried everything to fix what they did not break. After speaking to several pool companies in the area, having to spend additional money to have different reps come out to check the filters and fans. They all stated the pool (now neon yellow). Had to be completely drained washed down because of the chemicals clumped to the bottom. They all inspected the filter and vacuum and stated their is nothing wrong with anything, but what they were told to put into the pool was absolutely wrong.

This has gone on for over a month. We will never use this horrific company again and will make sure everyone in our neighborhood , as well as, family and friends know what they did and will not own up to their wrong doings. Plus, their customer service is absolutely horrible to speak to customers the way they did to my parents. I have tons of pictures showing what the pool looked like from start to finish. I’ve always thought Paradise pools as a five star. However my star rating has changed as of today. We bought our pool about 10 years ago from another company. Was never really happy with them so when we decided we needed a new liner it would search elsewhere. We started having problems with our liner having spots on it so we searched for a pool place looking to purchase a new liner Finding paradise pool not far from us as we live in Warwick we bought the liner was very pleased with the service and liner as well as stopping in often buying supplies. We started having Paradise open our pool for the last few years and close the pool as well since with getting a little older it became a little easier to hire for opening and closing. We also would often buy our supplies from paradise. Always so good when we requested to bring some supples upon opening. What a disappointment it was today when I called to have our pool scheduled for May to open because I was told that because the pool was not built or put up by Paradise we can no longer have them open the pool nor close it. Even though a customer! Bought the liner from them about five years ago and was a supplies customer as well. They can no longer offer us this service as under new management and too busy! What a horrible experience we had with this company! The owner Steve was only good at selling us pool. The moment we signed the contract he did not want to provide any kind of reasonable expected servies. He wouldn't return phone calls. Staff was very rude on the phone, not willing to help. He did not want to take care of the permits, having us runnig to inspectors. No flexability or customer service. He did not want to save our top soil, trying to charge extra for that and everything else after. He left pool in a messy condition and wanted to charge us for cleaning it. He did not provide clear instructions on how to start/run it. He did not want to call manufacturer for replacing covered by manufacturer wrranty part... The guy from another local pool store could not believe what kind of service Paradise pools gave us. Very nearsighted people. They will not see service contract from us. No referrals from neighbours and frinds in our community. They don't understand that their business is all about service. It was a huge mistake to sign a contract with them.
