German-American Society — Attraction in Hamilton Township

On May 30th 2021 , my daughter and I reserved their picnic area for my grandson's graduation party for a 100 guest that cost $2,000.00. We travel from Georgia to host this event in hometown Trenton NJ.

Unexpectedly the weather was very cold under 40ﾟwith rain all day and night.

This facility does not offer any type of alternative due to bad weather for outside events. So please it this in mind.

I asked if we could move the event inside where it was available for that day and I was first told I could move inside for additional $1800.00. The time for our event was 5pm to 10pm which I knew being outside below 40 degrees at night wasn't going to work for our event. So, I asked if we could paid a extra 500.00 and do any work that needed to be done inside and don't used any of their stuff. At this time they offered to take an extra $1,000.00. After begging them to help us, they offered us to pay an extra $800.00. Nothing changed with our contact for an extra $800.00 but, instead of being outside we was just coming inside. We had no choice but to give them an extra $800.00. This is truly no way to treat your customers and do business. It's so sad that this organization would take advantage of people in this way when things happen unexpectedly. On top of that I asked if I could used just one long black tablecloth and I was told they would have to charge me to used it..Remind you we just pay $2,800.00. Our menu for this $2,800.00 was hotdogs, hamburgers, Italian sausage onions and peppers, French fries and baked beans.

Also, I canceled having a Bartender that cost 125.00 but all of a sudden I was told I requested a Bartender in my contact and I paid for it. The real reason I was giving this Bartender was for him to watch my Black Guests.

I have done a lot of events in my life and was never treat this way.

I will say the kitchen ladies, the lady at the door and the bartender was very nice..

Normally we love the dinners they have here. Today not so much. Dinner was from 12-5. We arrived at 3:30. Paid our $20 apiece and went in to eat. There was no salad. Was looking forward to the cucumber salad but there was none. Minimal amount of beets left. Soups were three but no labels to know what kind it was and nobody there to serve. Went to the dinner buffet and there was no red cabbage or sauerkraut. They did bring out some sauerkraut a little later. Normally have spatzle but there were buttered noodles instead. Food was good but the lack of what we came in and paid for was disappointing. Went to get dessert and that was also gone. We feel like we didn’t get out $20 worth. They should have stopped taking money at the door when they were out of so many items. If we go again we will have to go early to get our money’s worth. Hope they fix this problem as we go almost every time they...

I had my wedding reception here on September 13th 2025 and it was so beautiful! Shannon the banquet manager was super helpful throughout the whole process and the staff handled the reception wonderfully they waited on me the bride and my groom the whole night! Don our chef was amazing and the food was delicious! They're recommended DJ Frank did a wonderful job and everyone was dancing and partying the whole night! The package we did included our beautiful cake from Eat Gub Bakery and it was super yummy and gorgeous! Everyone had a great time at our wedding and I wouldn't change anything! The German American Club had a big ballroom that held our 100 guest wedding reception and it was in our budget so planning it here was the right choice! I would highly recommend this venue for future brides or really anyone looking for a lovely banquet hall for any type...
