Just a great park along the south side of the Manasquan River. Nice place to go to relax & enjoy its surrounding views. You can hang out in the sun or stay in a shaded area. Plenty of benches and a small building displaying some of the towns history with pictures, articles....etc. There is a pavilion and restrooms, too. When they have festivals there....totally top notch. Such as the Blues & Jazz festival last summer, 2012. Plenty of places to park if the parking areas are filled. Just drive, perhaps, a block or two away. Very short walk from local streets. I believe this is known to be a 'passive' park. You can bring young children there and typically they won't find themselves dodging soccer balls or baseballs. Pt. Pleasant has many other fields and school yards for those activities. One of the reasons I moved here back in 1986 is so my 2 young boys ( at the time) could go to school here. Great, friendly people live in Point Pleasant Boro.....or, to be fair, most of the people here are like that. ;-) There are picnic areas & grills for a BBQ. Also a walking pier & bocce ball court...along with a large playground. During the warmer months, you'll get to watch some nice boats passing by on the river. It's also very close to the ocean and boardwalk at Point Pleasant Beach and Bay Head. And if you're lost or need any help, the Point Pleasant Police are great. They're very polite and do a superb job for keeping our...
Read moreThis is easily the nicest park in ocean county. Me and my family have alot of memories coming down here hanging out by the beach and going on the play ground with the kids. Its on the Manasquan River which opens up to the bay. It's a busy area with kayaks, paddle boards, boats, etc but it's a beautiful spot that you'll never want to leave. I recommend water shoes! Me and my family used to come here and rake the beach and we really appreciated this beautiful park. They also have a bocce ball court, a historical building , and a large roofed pavillion with picnic tables and grills that anyone can use. The park has a large field that has a track around it with workout stations. You can fish or crab off the pier. Whoever lives in this neighborhood is so lucky to have this place. I used to live 5-10 minutes from here in...
Read moreThis is a great park! My wife and I bring our 4 children often. They have a nice playground, a larger covered picnic area, a huge open field, and paved path that goes around the whole park. The playground I would say is for children 4 and up. My 3yo doesn't have a problem, but she's pretty athletic, but my 1yp I have to follow around the playground. The jungle gym is really high, with a lot of open area where a child could fall off. The paved path is great for kids to ride their bikes, scooters, or skateboards. The park is right on the Manasquan River and has terrific views. Parking can be non existent sometimes in the summer. There's only a small parking lot and a...
