As someone who loves exploring the great outdoors, I recently visited Hidden Falls Nature Park, located near Lendzioszek Field. And I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with this hidden gem!
The park boasts a very nice, paved, albeit steep path down to a breathtaking waterfall nearly 20 feet tall. It's an excellent spot for a picnic and the peaceful sound of the creek running through the park was very calming. During my visit, I noticed a few people in the park, but overall, it was relatively quiet and peaceful.
One of the best things about Hidden Falls Nature Park is its accessibility. Despite being located between a high school and a newer neighborhood, it's easily accessible and provides plenty of street parking.
The trail down to the falls is steep, but it's a short walk with plenty of rocks to sit on and rest. I also appreciated the dog-friendliness of the park, as it allowed me to bring along my furry friend.
While I did come across a review mentioning signs blocking off access to the falls and water with threats of a fine, I did not have this experience at all. In fact, the falls were quite accessible, and I was able to enjoy their beauty up close.
I highly recommend visiting Hidden Falls Nature Park for a peaceful, serene escape in Happy Valley. The park's beauty is sure to leave you in awe, and the short hike down to the falls is well worth...
Read moreSo interesting that when you move away from an area and come back you discover a place that you think " why didn't I know about this before?!" This is such a place, an oasis in the middle of Happy Valley. It's introduction I stumbled upon while looking for hikes to do w/ my Niece. Told this was once private property sold in 90's to HV or Clackamas County and made into public park. Lets get to it.... Off of 152nd-S. from Sunnyside Rd or N, from 212 (Estacada). Turn on Pioneer Rd follow down to where there is natural L hand bend- and boom you are at the entrance to Park (street parking). This is a ample paved path w/ a STEEP grade- not a super long walk 1/2 mile(?) to Falls. So be prepared for a bit of a workout when walking back up! You can walk further either L or R (stay R for Falls) and see the backside of houses, well shaded. Probably great place to come on a hot summer day for heat relief. People walk their dogs here. But that sweet Falls is just a wonderful surprise- places to get good views, hear the flow of water near the bridge. It is asked you stay on designated path, but you can tell people have gone all the way down to the falls and pool. Enjoy the comfort found in the midst of the city; a getaway of peace. After the climb your not far from the HV food cart plaza heading towards 122nd off Sunnyside Rd. A cold beer sounds good after...
Read moreIt's a beautiful walking path. And others may find it perfect for them. But I didn't realize from any of the reviews and so wanted to warn others - you can't get to the water. It's all fenced off with a $500 fine for crossing. My 3 year old son loves just throwing rocks in the water, and I thought that's what we were headed to do. I put on an audio book and we can kick it for hours. Thought I found a place close to our house, we took a walk.. it's not the spot for that. It's beautiful, bridge is nice, the walk is good exercise, but I did not gather from the pictures or other reviews before we went that you can't actually get within hundreds of feet of the water, anywhere. There's a fence all the way around. So just wanted to let others know before you cart a toddler set on splashing in the water down there. 😅 Nice place, just not the place for that. Happy...
