I read several menus from various crab restaurants and choose Kracked Crab in Happy Valley because the pricing was decent for crab legs. It took us a minute to find the place but once we did the establishment was modern, clean and full of various food restaurants. The owner was charming, helpful and friendly. But once our order was placed and paid for the service went down hill. Four of us spent $175 on #10 and #9 combo. The #10 came in a huge foil tray, and #9 in a styrofoam container. When our food arrived in a decent amount of time, we were handed plastic gloves a few napkins and small plastic forks. The food was hot! But it took me four “asks” and my temper to get crab crackers. By this time the crab had already begun to get cold and I was pissed. $175 in crab that none of us could get open. The bottom of the tray was piled with potatoes soaking in clarified butter and spices. It also came with sausage, corn, shrimp, tiny lobster tails and crab legs on the smaller side. The taste was good, the price fair but not worth the 45 minute drive and the gut reaction to food soaked in butter. Portion size was generous and so was the mess we made trying to eat this meal. We also ordered from the bar, a separate tab of $50 plus tip. The bartender must have been new or on her first day of working as I watched her run around in circles not knowing what to do and she served us the wrong beer from what we ordered. Sorry to say I don’t think we will go back. Good luck to the cool dude that owns the place. He did offer us a discount but we declined out of respect for a small business owner. Sincerely,...
Read moreI am editing the review. I had a great conversation with one of the owners of the restaurant. He took time to address my concerns and even went into great detail about how he addressed his staff's customer service and the operate of their online order system. The owner cares alot about his business and wants customers to be treated well. I plan to get another boil in the future. The shortened thr previous review below.
I called Krab Kracked to cancel my order right after I made the order but their phone wasn't working at their Happy Valley location. I called their Beaverton location and to ask if they could get in touch with the Happy Valley location. The worker at the Beaverton location said they would get in touch with them and he would call me back.
He never returned my call, so I called him and he just told me to go on menufy to cancel the order. You can't do that because only the restaurant can do that. I called the Happy Valley location again. They miraculously found time to answer the phone.
I was told by the gentleman who answered the phone, that he couldn't refund the money, but the owner could. He said he would call me back once he got in touch with the owner. I got a call back from some worker who didn't even say hello. She just grumbled that the amount would be refunded in 2-3 business days. I haven't...
Read moreWalked around once to check everything out and we both agreed on Kracked Crab because who passes up on a seafood boil? Not us! Got the Whole pot with the Honey Garlic Drip. Whole pot is 2 clusters, 16 shrimp. 1 lobster, 2 corns, 2 boiled eggs, 2 sausages and potatoes. Payed got my little beeper thing to tell you when the food was ready went to look for a drink and before I could order my drink my little beeper was going off. My food was ready. It was hot and I could smell it through the aluminum pan. Napkins were given along with 2 forks. Each fork had a pair of gloves tied to them. It was a table open nearby so we just went to town. Got drinks later. I’m so happy we picked Kracked Crab. I’m from the East Coast where SEASONED seafood is a must and this place gets my approval. That honey garlic is the truth. I’m already planning on going back to try other flavors and check out the fried menu....
