I never write reviews, EVER... so when I do, I mean business. When I moved to the Fort Hood area from the East Coast a few years ago, I had been hard pressed to find a reputable tattoo shop to have more work done. I was disappointed, seeing the crappy artists people kept referring me, churning out your run of the mill garbage tattoos. I had pretty much given up hope of finding anything...until I found Terry.
I found him quite by accident, just happened to be in the area and drove by the shop. With nowhere to go and time to kill, I figured what the heck-- I'd check it out. SO GLAD I did. I have five tattoos done by Terry, ranging from a large thigh piece to smaller delicate work when Terry helped me turn my existing 3/4 Japanese sleeve into a full sleeve.
Terry puts a great deal of effort and time into the work he puts on each and every client--- and it shows! Not only does he listen to his clients and go above and beyond to make the client happy with their new work-- he is extremely professional and an all around hella cool dude.
I spent many hours sitting in Terry's chair whether it was getting hours of new ink work done, or simply getting my labret jewelry switched out. I thoroughly enjoyed the work I got from the shop and enjoyed being in an establishment filled with such courteous and professional individuals. That being said, I give him and his staff...
Read moreBecause I’m pretty loyal to my piercer, I noticed some big differences! Where my piercing studio shows me autoclaved/still sealed instruments before piercing EACH TIME, the piercer at Kingpin did not do this.
I’ve no doubts that the place is clean, but it always reassures me when I see the instruments that will be used coming from sealed packaging.
My partner & I both re-pierced our tongues on the last day of 2022, so understandably our piercer (who was completely knowledgeable & maintained professional eye contact) was eager to close for the year.
Lastly, I’ve gotten a tattoo here before, which I realized once I’d entered Kingpin two or three times.. I was NOT happy with the service then, but my piercer was not the tattoo artist from previous encounters.
Overall, the staff (two people working, a third was in and out) was helpful, friendly, and as previously stated, VERY knowledgeable. We presented as a “re-pierce after four years” and a “re-pierce from more than a decade ago.” The piercer explained their process, why it was required, and I felt very calm with this piercer.
I’m done (for awhile) with facial piercings, but if I do decide on more, I would check here as well. Prices here are slightly higher than at my regular piercer (TTS), but the work is exceptional, quick, and reassuringly...
Read moreTHIS IS THE PLACE TO GO! Out of all the places I've gotten a tattoo at, Kingpin Tattoo is by far the cleanest, most professional shop I have ever been to. I've gotten the last 2 of my 8 tattoos here and will go nowhere else from now on. I especially love the privacy of the art rooms while getting tattooed, and the overall great vibe of the shop. Most places you have to sit in the open and EVERYONE can watch you get tattooed. Here you go into art rooms and are out of the public area which is really nice.
All of the artists are nice and talented, especially mine, Manda May- when I came in to setup my appt she was attentive, extremely nice, super knowledgeable, and drew up an original design that I absolutely LOVE between my consult and my appt. She is beyond great and I get neverending compliments on my forearm sleeve. I'm already researching my next tattoo idea to get here and highly recommend this shop to everyone-they will take care of you and make you sure are comfortable and receive the best artwork and experience ever! Whether you are a first timer or already have tattoos this is the shop to go to :) my friend traveled from North Carolina to get her artwork done here and another got a piercing while I was getting my work done and we are all...
