I was floored this hospital is not what it used to be. Nurses do not read doctors' orders and will leave a patient along if they are having an issue. They had my husband with nothing to eat so his blood sugars were very low, then they give him something to get his blood sugar up, then wanted to give him insulin to get them back down. They had his blood sugar like a roller coaster. he does not even take diabetic medication. The next day we found out they was supposed to be hanging sugar water for his IV, this is why his blood sugars was dropping. The doctor ordered to increase his diet as tolerated on Sunday, at this time he was still on a clear liquid diet, which we did not know about the new order, my husband asked for a sandwich or something to eat because he was so hungry several times, the nurse refused and brought him a popsicle said his order was clear liquids. On Monday the doctor came in and my husband told him he could not keep going with not food, that's when the doctor let us know he had written the order yesterday to increase diet as tolerated all we had to do was ask, well you have to know to ask. He had a problem one-night feeling like he could not breath, they said nothing was wrong with him, he asked for oxygen, and they refused him, which I do not get if it makes the patient feel better it would not have hurt anything. So, they thought he was hyperventilating and left him in his room by himself, the nurse's theory was he would calm down. That night one nurse told him to leave AMA twice. I was not called about this issue; I found out the next day. The nurses will also tell you if you are not happy leave AMA then tell you your insurance will not pay if you leave AMA. This is a scare tactical, insurance will pay. I was also told this by a nurse on Monday, but I let her know that was not true, we were trying to get discharge orders because the doctor said if he had no pain and was able to eat without his stomach hurting, we could leave. They nurse message the doctor and he said he did not have time to write the orders, and we could leave AMA if we did not want to wait on him, but his insurance would not pay, I felt that we were being bullied (doctor not going to write the orders and cannot give us a time but you can leave AMA) I had to call the patient patient advocate for help; she was great we had discharge orders 20min later. If you ever do decide to leave AMA just make sure you write on their little paper, why you are leaving AMA and take a picture of it or ask for a copy. Also, Forrest General has always told us you have to be escorted to your car by staff after a procedure or hospital stay, the nurse asked us do we want to walk out or have a wheelchair, she let us walk out with nobody from the hospital, by this time we were ready to run out. We were not offered home health or anything. The doctor does not always listen to the patient about any staff issues they are having, they just believe the nurses, well nurses don't always tell the truth. I always thought the customer was always right. I usually don't write reviews, but I was so upset about the way my husband was treated, you would think your family will be taken care of and you can go home and rest but that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery disappointed!!!! I went to hospital by ambulance Thursday evening , they took me to a room and they drew blood and ran some test they 2 young nurses to come in and check my bp which was over 200 and they didn't even know what they were doing , one of them didn't even know how to take bp so don't really know why they were even there, I sat there forever and I understand your busy but not that long , I kept asking how long do I have to sit there finally a nurse practioner came in and asked me what was going on I told her , she left , the doctor came in right after and asked me the same question and he left , I had a bad headache and neck was hurting they wouldn't give me anything , told them I needed something to drink did not get it until way later ,, nurse came and drew more blood and I asked her why , and then I asked when was the results from other test gonna be back and she said usually 30 minutes I said well it's been over 2 hours she said let me go see well she didn't come back ,,, I waited and waited finally I sent my daughter out to get her and she comes in and ia asked her and she said we'll I know they are gonna admit you for more test and I told her what other test and she said she didn't know that the doctor would come talk to me and so here I go waiting forever again finally she comes in and says well the doctor went home and so did the nurse practioner I said are you serious and she said yes but another doctor will come talk to you I said you know how long that would be its already 1 in the morning and she said no not really maybe an hour or so she's slow I said no take this iv out I'm leaving ,, it's a shame that the doctor want to admit you but never comes and talks to you and explain anything ,,, if they don't care anymore than that for their patients then maybe they need to find a different job ,,, it is a shame,,, so no I wasn't gonna be admitted to have more test done you can't come and talk and explain anything shame on you and I'm seriously thinking about talking to a lawyer and see what I can do ... will not be back and I definitely don't recommend this hospital to anyone . The only reason I'm giving you a one star is because it wouldn't let me post anything without it . I think this hospital needs to shut down ,, because when I went to the ER and now getting bills I'm getting more bills because I find out that I'm paying for just using the facility and then another bill to pay for a doctor or blood work from another clinic. If you don't have your own doctors and have to use doctors frome another clinic then you need to shut down , I've got too many bills from just this one visit , I wouldn't use this hospital again if I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreHORRIBLE experience! I went to the emergency room. Front desk lady had an attitude. Didnāt even greet/smile.
Nurse GAVE MY 8 MONTH BABY MEDICINE IMPATIENTLY and he ended up choking and spit the majority out because it was too much at the same time. Because of this his temperature didnāt go down and he was at 103.7 had I known she was impatient , I couldāve given him Tylenol myself.
Same nurse who gave him medicine checked temperature through my babyās behind at a wrong angle and my baby was in pain/crying. I can tell it hurt him because other nurses have checked temperature the same way by laying him on his side and he doesnāt fuss much.
Asked for a blanket for my daughter and I got an attitude. My baby threw up on the blankets and they didnāt offer to bring in clean sheets. My daughter was laying on the floor cause she was sleepy, it was 12am at night. We had been there since 7pm and not one nurse that came in offered to bring a recliner for her to lay on. They would just walk past her. Thankfully someone noticed and brought one for her to be more comfortable. Thank you to that nurse! Next day, For the prescription I forgot the pharmacy I go to doesnāt open on weekends and I called the hospital to have the prescription switched to another pharmacy and the lady told me to just take the paper to any pharmacy and theyād fill it (meaning she was too lazy to switch the prescription in the system to another pharmacy) I show up to a different pharmacy and they tell me they canāt fill it unless the prescription shows up in their system. I call the hospital and explain my situation and she says āare you the one who called earlier?ā In a moody voice. Long story short she had to end up switching the prescription in the system to another pharmacy. Literally something she couldāve done since the very beginning. I needed this prescription ASAP for my 8 month old baby who was running a high 103.7 fever the night before but I couldnāt get it ASAP because this nurse was being LAZY!! Iāve been to this hospital before and Iāve never had these many issues or staff being rude and having attitudes. I delivered my 3 babies here but that was a different department and everything and everyone was so sweet and I loved being in the labor and delivery room. I understand nurses are stressed and overwhelmed but i shouldnāt have had to go through all of this especially with an 8 month old baby. I will say there were some nurses who were sweet and gentle with my baby and asked if I needed anything (THANK YAāll FOR BEING NICE) but other half of the staff needed to be...
