After my last re-fueling stay at Hotel Indigo in the Midtown district in Hattiesburg, I felt I had to write about my experience with this little gem, and most importantly- Tammy, the exceptional hotel manager at Hotel Indigo. Her professionalism, elite customer service, and undeniable talent for bringing life into the lobby truly make this boutique property shine. As a regular guest, often accompanied by my 8 month old Labradoodle, I have had the pleasure of experiencing this whole teamâs hospitality and white glove finesse.
However I wanted to shine a light on Tammyâs professionalism, which is unparalleled. From the moment you walk into the lobby, you can immediately sense the well-organized and efficient atmosphere she has cultivated. Her attention to detail is impeccable, ensuring that every guest's stay is seamless and enjoyable. Whether you are checking in, requesting assistance, or simply seeking recommendations for local outings, Tammy's warm and approachable demeanor makes you feel like a valued guest every time.
Elite customer service is a nice surprise at this little hotel, and youâll find it in all places on the property. I know Iâm going on a bit, but there are so many negative reviews in the restaurant / hotel / service industry, so I wanted to share a positive. Tammy goes above and beyond to ensure that every guest's needs are met and exceeded. Whether it's a special request, or a last-minute room change, she and her team handle it with grace and efficiency. It's evident that she genuinely cares about the well-being and satisfaction of each guest, and this level of dedication is truly exceptional. I also personally witnessed her calm and cool demeanor with a âdifficultâ guest and how she disarmed and turned the situation around.
It's not just Tammy who excels at Hotel Indigo; the entire staff reflects a commitment to excellence. From the friendly and knowledgeable front desk team to the attentive Brass Hat staff and the diligent housekeeping crew, everyone works in harmony to ensure your stay is nothing short of exceptional.
In conclusion, I just wanted to show some credit to people who often go unnoticed. Tammyâs exceptional level of professionalism, elite customer service, and talent for bringing life into the lobby make Hotel Indigo my go-to weekend respite. I eagerly anticipate each visit with Benji, my dog, knowing that we will be greeted with warmth, attention, and a vibrant atmosphere that sets this boutique hotel apart from the rest. Kudos to Tammy and her outstanding team for consistently exceeding expectations and creating unforgettable experiences for their guests. And not to forget the hotel restaurant, Brass Hat, has a smart, indulgent Art Deco menu (big dishes like filets and fish) and will deliver to your room. My favorites are the truffle fries, filet, philly sliders and pan roasted redfish. The wine list is also...
Read moreFrom check in to check out, this hotel is wonderful. I almost hate to give a review as I don't want to not be able to get in this gem because it's booked solid but here goes.....
The front desk is front and centered as you enter so you have a feeling of both welcome and security. The decor is both a mixture of the local vibe and a very old, elegant, almost 40's glamour with velvet benches mixed with industrial metals that I haven't seen in any hotel other than high end hotels in cities like New Orleans and Memphis.
The Brass Hat Bar is a lovely little spot that serves both "mixology" drinks as well as lovely small plates and one of the best two charcuterie platters available. Delovitt is such an attentive and fun bartender that caters to your every need. They also have a beautiful little outdoor patio area that is perfect for "social distancing" as well as smoking one of their primo cigars from their humidor that they have displayed right inside the patio doors. And yes, they have a guillotine for cutting the cigar as well as a propane torch for lighting like any proper cigar shop would have. Just ask.
The decor in the rooms is both welcoming and comfortable and offers a mixed blend of lighting, furniture and crisp sheets on pillow soft beds. The bathroom has it's own vibe with a huge clock shaped mirror edged with a "selfie" ring of light. The walk in shower is very large and the bathroom door gives you another feel of the 40's with it's frosted glass window and heavy panelled width. The only reason I gave a 4 on cleanliness is the shower tracks could use a little scrubbing but, to be honest, it's still cleaner than mine at home....
This hotel is also right in the heart of Hardy Street but is just off the main drag with it's own little community of shops and restaurants including Asian Cafe, Rock and Roll Sushi and Midtowner, which is the BEST breakfasts in town and continues the 40's vibe with an old diner atmosphere.
The staff at this Hotel Indigo is friendly and welcoming but maintains an air of safety during this pandemic. I would like to thank them for an amazing reprieve from this weary...
Read moreRoom was excellent, clean, spacious, and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful when needed. The location was perfect for the competition we were in town for. The convention center was a few miles away and very easy to drive to. My only major gripe is the fact that I booked the hotel stay plus breakfast. We were told at check in that the hotel restaurant was way understaffed and may not be open on time. We wanted breakfast at the hotel because it was easier than having to locate another place to go and we were on a strict schedule. Each morning that I attempted to get our breakfast, the restaurant was closed. The first morning, I waited in the lounge over 20 mins after being told that it should open soonâŠ..but it never opened. Finally, we had to leave. I was pretty irritated because we didnât have time to stop somewhere else. So, my daughter had to go to competition on an empty stomach. The next morning I was told that we could go in the little shop and get snacks for breakfast, which I was not going to entertain. Bags of chips and candy bars donât equate to a balanced breakfast. So, after two days of nothing, I inquired that evening about being compensated food from the restaurant at dinner time since it was open. I was pleased that they took 4 items off the bill to make up for the 2 items the 2 two mornings we went without. However, the amount of the items removed didnât not equate to the amount that I prepaid, but I was glad they did something versus nothing. The morning of checkout, guess whatâŠ.restaurant closed again. I asked the gentleman at the front desk if we could just get reimbursed since we were leaving town. He said he would credit my bill for the cost of the breakfast, which was $30.00, and he did.
Bottom line, I would stay there again, but I would not book a stay and prepay for breakfast, as you donât know if youâll...
