Honokaa is a pretty neat place. Close to the birthplace of Kamehameha. The cultural center was great, showing the Hawaiian Royalty over the years. They always have something going on, and this week was the rodeo.

Food was simple but tasty and with local flare. The owners are personable and spoke to us about the heritage of the place. In 2024, they will have been open for 100 years. Family run with great food.

The cultural center strives to share Hawaiian culture and values to all who are interested. They are very inclusive and welcome not only people from the Honoka'a community to participate in their events and workshops, but everyone from everywhere. They give children the opportunity to learn by connecting with the 'aina, the earth and all the elements and learn in a very Hawaiian way via their summer programs and other programs throughout the year. Currently, the Kukulu exhibit is on display and showcases the current movement happening on Mauna Kea, and captures moments of it in photos, and various artwork that was inspired by the stand to protect Mauna Kea and all sacred places, here and abroad, like Standing Rock, and the salmon of the Winnemum Wintu. The cultural center is a very welcoming place to visit or sign up for a class...
