88 Seafood Supermarket — Attraction in Hayward

I love that we have a place nearby for (eastern) asian groceries. I mostly go here for korean and thai cooking sauces, rice, ramen, and meat. The butcher here is great. I buy all my pork here. It tends to be fresher, of higher quality, and cheaper than what I used to get at Safeway.

Dont expect to find many standard goods that you'd find in large chain, non specialty grocery stores. You might be looking for russet potato but instead find 3 or 4 types of sweet potatoes. You might be looking for cheap sandwich bread and find that these guys have only high end sliced bread that's more in the $4+ range. You also won't find a big variety of beverages that you might be looking for, like chocolate milk or cranberry juice. But they have 50 different beverages you've never seen, many of which you probably dont realize you'd love if you've never spent time in...

Today 6/28/2023, I was really angry at an employee. His name was Vinh (Dinh?) I had three heavy items that I needed help carrying out. The cashier asked Vinh to help. He came to the front. He looked at my cart, waved his hand and said, "Do it yourself" in Vietnamese, very rudely. He walked back to the aisle and continued stocking. I asked the cashier, "Does he get paid to work here?" I am asking for help. But the cashier told me he refused to do it and they couldn't ask him. I was so angry feeling like i should return all my items back to the store.

I hope this will be brought up to the upper management team. If they don't care about customers then why should I care about spending my money there. I would rather spend my money where I am treated well. The #1 rule in retail is TO BE NICE to customers. Now I will just order from...

I went here to buy live lobsters and steak for my camping trip when I asked for steak even though there was plenty in the display case , all I got was the person shaking his head no... After a back and forth i finally got the steak. I went to the lobster tank and asked for 6 lobsters, they reluctantly gave them to me then when I went to the front counter the meat department called the front register to make sure that I was paying where I was also told that I can only pay in cash not use my bank card even though somebody else who was purchasing food from the same Department was able to use their card I was discriminated against there and it felt bad I felt bad for the whole weekend.
