Take your time... Savor each bite... Let your taste buds share the joy of this food with the rest of your senses... (Wolfing it down is a shame considering all the time, love, and care that goes into this food.)
Ribs (my mouth is watering for more) with green beans (wow, what is the magic seasoning here?) & potato salad (there are no words for a loaded-with-flavor bomb). Tri tip (juicy and yummy) with candied yams (yes! no skimping on the spices) & potato salad (ditto from above). Wow - all great choices with more sides and dessert to try on our next visit!
Btw- my husband is not a great fan of tri tip because most places make it too dry. But here? I had to keep my fork ready to fend off the poaching!!! Me? I usually cut off the fatty bits. But here? I ate every bit as it literally melted in my mouth. (Hubby was bummed as he usually gets the fatty bits of any bbq from me)
Staff was great - friendly, helpful and full of smiles and laughter! It was like being invited into someone's home for the best bbq! California BBQ ROCKS! - this pastor knows what he's doing...
Oh and the hot bbq sauce is flavorful with just a little kick - just as the pastor...
Read moreI really wanted to like/love this place cause the guy doing the cooking and serving is way cool but I just couldn't. I ordered a combo plate with ribs and sliced beef. The ribs were tough and under cooked and the beef was WAAAAY over cooked with absolutely zero flavor other than the mediocre sauce. He asked if I wanted sliced bread with it and I replied yes. When I got home and opened the container there was only 1 slice of bread. REALLY ! The only thing palatable was the potato salad. It was very mushy but did have decent flavor. I am giving the 1 star review based on 1/2 a star for the guy and 1/2 a star for the palatable potato salad. I asked the wife and kids who love BBQ to try it and everyone had the same opinion. Never going there again. Are there no good BBQ joints in the bay anymore !?!? Sad that if you want great BBQ you have to slow smoke it...
Read moreFound this place near by on my yelp app...I frequent this area often and this is the first time I've seen this place only to learn it just open 6 months ago. Break down:
Had the bishop platter which is a sample of the brisket, rib, mild or hot link and chicken and two sides I had the bake beans and fries.
The brisket was tender but kind tasted old....give 3/5 only cause I think it can get better
Mild (beef)link 5/5 not spice at all so if you want a kick go with the hot (pork)link
Chicken was my favorite very tender and juicy perfectly cook with the right amount of sauce. 5/5
Rib 5/5 very tender falling off the bone and juicy.
Overall 5/5 will definitely be back around.
Would be 10/5 if they had rib tips :0) since I am...
