This Sunday I sought out a church. I read Google ratings to find the right one. After a very traumatic week filled with school murders, bus stabbings and a public assassination of Charlie Kirk, I couldn't stop crying. I was really seeking to find a church that would use the door that had been opened to confront the subject of good versus evil.
As we arrived there were signs being held that made us feel welcomed. "Glad you're here" signs and one that said "this place is lit". The band was terrific as we entered and I was hopeful. Our daughter covered her ears because it was loud. Our son was nervous to be left alone and so they both sat with me in the overflow room, where the sound wasn't as loud. From there we heard about the negative influence of the Internet and AI bots. The church service was uninspired and irrelevant in a time that deserved so much more. When people crowded the building searching for answers and acknowledgement of the battle between good and evil playing out all over the world, it felt like those passengers on the bus who turned a blind eye as that young lady was murdered to avoid drawing unwanted attention to themselves for helping her. I feel Hope church came across as complacent, when what we're desperately in need of right now are spiritual warriors.
I found the church service I'd hoped to attend on Sunday, in an online video through Grace...
Read moreHope Church has been our church home since 2005. This is a space that is so much more than a building. When you become part of Hope Church you can count on now having an EXTENDED family. My family and I have grown so much in our spiritual walk since attending. We are grateful to Pastor Greg's obedience in the way he follows the Holy Spirit to lead his congregation. Pastor Greg is not just a pastor who preaches but one who teaches and shows how the word of God can be applicable to our lives through faith. This is a church for the entire family. The children's ministry is amazing with the little ones, and there is also a ministry for teens up to age 19!!... so everyone is growing at a level best for them. There are many opportunities to get involved whether its being a greeter, volunteering with the food pantry/mobile market, childrens ministry, cameras, etc. There is something for everyone. If you live in the St. Louis or surrounding areas, please come visit. It's like a warm fuzzy glove you never want to take it off. You'll experience the goodness of the Lord through dynamic teaching, and assembling with one another. (Hebrews 10:25) Be blessed. Hope to...
