I moved in middle of June- was given a list to go through the apartment and let them know what was wrong with it. What I don't get is why do I have play your inspector to have a decent place to live. I'm paying extra for "Wood floors" but in the middle of the dining room there's a big gash in the flooring and places where it looks like they tried to glue rips together. The refrigerator was leaking since the day I did a walk through before I moved in and still not fixed. The bathroom sink looks like they used putty to fix the drainage and never glazed it- I still have no key to the storage, the screen door doesn't slide well open or closed, the front door the weather strip looks like its been there for 20+ years its corroding. I went to the laundry mat and was completely discussed with how filthy it is in there!
The outlook of this place grass cut trash picked up pools look pretty but thats a cover- I got fooled by the cover. The leasing office NEVERRRRR answers the phone so I have to go to the office to complain. I've talked to them 5 times a manager once and the only thing done was the tub facet because there was no regulating the water it was either extreme hot, semi hotish warm or cold no regulating so they finally fixed that because I was near burning myself. I saw maintenance man one day with a screw driver asked him to fix the dead bolt door plate because the screws were coming out and i couldn't get in out my apartment without jiggling the door. Not safe at all.
I'm absolutely moving as soon as I can! Going on two months now!
Update 08/17/2017- So I have to make yet another call. I requested the manager but a Cindy called me back claiming to be from corporate. Informed her of the story a couple times saying that I have to clean up a puddle of water because the fridge is leaking. She says to me that she will take down what is wrong and create yet another ticket. Mind you i'm on the clock at work and have to give yet again another person all that is wrong with this place. So she ask me again whats wrong with the place. Told her again that the fridge is leaking her question "where is it leaking from?" didn't I just tell her 3 times I've been having to clean up a puddle of water everyday??? She got smart with me and said "ok so that's as far as we are going to go on the fridge ok what else."
This is awful I have had to live this way for all this time. Someone left a response to my post OVER A WEEK AGO!!! DO YOU THINK THEY SENT ANYONE TO FIX ANYTHING????? NO! Unbelievable your new you took over so do...
Read moreNow that we have moved out of this horrible place, I will share our experience. My husband moved to knollwood in December of 2016, after we got married I moved in with him. Our first summer there (2017) our AC broke. We called immediately, and no one came. I called the next day and was told someone would be out shortly. At this point it was over 90° in our apartment, and it wasn’t until the third day in a row that I called them that they said “oh yeah we don’t have the part and we had to order it. It will be here in a few days”. Unfortunately our apartment had become a sauna and we were unable to stay and longer so we had to leave until they finally fixed our AC. Fast forward a little bit, and we hit the issues with the bathroom. Our toilet was running constantly. We called maintenance, and you guessed it. They did nothing. It wasn’t until our bathroom has flooded due to the toilet overflowing that maintenance finally showed up. And not a month later, our upstairs neighbors had a leak in their bathroom. Causing extreme water damage as shown in the picture below. We lived like that for MONTHS always trying to contact maintenance to get our bathroom wall fixed, as we had a newborn infant that we had just brought home from the NICU who had lung problems. They never answered. It was not until we went to the office and threatened to call housing authorities that maintenance FINALLY came to look at our bathroom. At that point there was mold that very well could have made our son even more sick. And then we get to now. Today my husband was contacted via email (we have yet to receive a physical letter from them. Unsure if they have not sent it, or it got lost in the mail.) stating that we owed them $355 for unpaid rent and month to month rent. However, we have proof that we paid $344 on Jan. 4th for rent and utilities (a total they calculated), and my husband drove to Knollwood on the 14th of January before our lease ended at 11:59 that night in horrible conditions to drop off our door keys and mailbox keys. To say I don’t recommend Knollwood is an understatement. This place needs to be shut down. Not to mention the fights in the parking lot, the fact our neighbors smoked weed 24/7 and my apartment ALWAYS smelled like weed and they did absolutely nothing about it. And people always playing horribly loud music in their cars at all hours of the night making our apartment shake because of how...
Read moreI urge anyone who is looking for a home to overlook these properties! They are nice from the outside and seem to affordable, but that comes to a cost the apartments are run down and the office lack communication. I was told to move in on the 20th on December with out looking or viewing the property I was interested in. They told me that the sheet and the display unit would be what I would be moving in to, the day before my move in date I was told my apartment was pushed back due to not passing inspection this happen three different times . I begged the office to let me view the unit before re signing a new lease they were hesitant but agreed. I’ve been a carpenter for 7 years and I knew that the price I was paying at this property would not be great but what I walked in to was not my expectation there was water damage and mold in bathroom vinyl was delaminating, no base bored in rooms and it was filthy. They told me all it needed was a clean up. Karey seen that I was not happy with the unit and offered me to view a more updated unit, I agreed and drove up to the smaller unit which was more than the original. The unit had updated appliances but the unit was outdated and rushed together the paint was thin and could see the previous coat from underneath the baseboards were dirty and broken up and places there maintenance crew needs help? After I was told I would have to sign a new lease I declined after knowing what I would be walking in to. I was told that my contract is voided due to me not switching apartments and or waiting for them to get inspection to pass for the one I originally went for that I would not be able to receive my deposit. Each time I had to call and check up on the status of my unit or receiving my deposit back after a month pass and the office took there vacation I called and was told that if I want the deposit back I would have to write a letter on to why I would not be moving in. The place seems to be a scam and and a headache to deal with for any...
