A beautiful park with 2 separate play areas for the little ones both equiped with a couple of swings and a jungle gym structure to climb on with slides to boot. Nothing too extreme that my 3yr old grandson couldnt figure and conquer quickly. One play area has a foam/rubber type of ground while the other sports a wood chip/tree bark type of ground cover. The areas are seperated by a large open grass area. There not really anything for the older kids to do unless they are pulling guard duty in the smaller ones. Very clean with large grass areas and a large covered table area (I assume available for larger gatherings or events). As far as I could tell the covered table area was pretty much the only hope if one wanted to escape the summer sun as there seemed to be a lack of trees big enough to offer much protection from the heat/rain if needed. All and all a very pleasent park and a world apart from the one by the hospital that seemed to be the residence of a few of the local homeless. (If i can i will update with that parks name after I look it up.)
Weston park is the one by the hospital where you are sure to find the less furtunate residents of Hemit rather then...
Read moreThe park is exceptionally pretty yet underlined It's somewhat disappointing. Understand it's hard for the city to maintain bathroom cleanliness when there's a lot of craziness, but I believe someone going through and washing the bathroom down at least once or twice a day would be better than nothing. California project itself and recycling. Yet the kids playground doesn't even have recycled cover or flooring. This is such an easy fix yet they don't do it. I believe families will be able to enjoy it more if the actual playground itself was covered from the heat of the sun, especially in the solar powered state. Portable solar powered fans on the top won't hurt. It's actually more beneficial to use I believe three stars is where she stands for now. Lots of room for...
Read moreHemet's BEST park? I'm a little biased, but this park is super clean and well-kept. There's plenty of space to jog, walk, or ride a bike on the cement pathway. Mary Henley also has a playground, lunch canopies, and a cooling station with water activities for visitors. I visited tonight for a Movie Under the Stars event hosted by the City of Hemet and it was amazing! My family and I enjoyed Moana 2 as we relaxed in the cool air and freshly trimmed grass.
Mary Henley has a nice view of the San Jacinto mountains and has plenty of shade. I love the trees surrounding the park!
My only complaint would be the nasty bathrooms. There's a button for flushing but it didn't work! Also, bring bug spray, there's quite a few June bugs...
