My review of the Cottages of Flatrock is... I whole heartedly suggest that you book your cottage if you are wanting a homey, peaceful place to stay while in North Carolina. These cottages are quaint, quiet, clean, and super comfortable. Our cottage was nicely decorated with a high ceiling in the living room, something that you wouldn’t expect to find in these quaint little cottages. It was a perfect rest & relax spot to settle into after a full day of experiencing the beauty of the mountains and waterfalls that we easily could find with a scenic drive or after enjoying the area restaurants and shopping on cute Main Street in Hendersonville. We could sit on the screened porch in the evening with a glass of wine, watching and listening to the birds in the trees surrounding our cottages. We’d wake up early, I’d make a pot of coffee and we’d plan out our site seeing for the day, using the WiFi. Something else I liked was that I didn’t have to share a sink with my husband while he was in the full bathroom, since there was a half bathroom that I could use to put on my make-up. Another perk that we appreciated was that we were able to go to the nearby Publix Grocery Store to easily grab any supplies for the week. The kitchen in our cottage was perfect, it was modern, with a full size refrigerator and full size oven/range, although I didn’t have to cook any meals while on this vacation, we found plenty of great restaurants, it’s good to know we can plan on it the next time we return, and we do...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to take a relaxing vacation to the mountains of North Carolina. Both of us being from Florida and around flat ground for the majority of our lives, we were looking for something a little different than we were used to. Something a little more scenic, and a little less busy. We contacted Tim Robison, the owner of The Cottages of Flatrock. He was able to tell us about Hendersonville and some of the other cities that were nearby. He told us about the cottages and some of the local dining. The cottages had kitchens with all the equipment we would have needed, but we weren't on vacation to cook. Once we arrived, we were greeted and handed keys to our private cottage. It was our rally point when we weren't out getting lost in the scenery and driving across mountains. Our vacation was great, picking up little things here and there. By the time we left, we had started to decorate with our various findings from near and far. We packed up our things, and said goodbye to our comfortable little cottage in the mountains. I doubt we'll ever own a little cottage of our own tucked away in the countryside, but as long as The Cottages of Flatrock stand, We'll always have a home...
Read moreTim and Ralph were extremely helpful and accommodating during our visit to the Cottages of Flat Rock right outside of the Hendersonville, NC. city limits. My husband, myself and my cousin and her husband all stayed at the cottages. We thought they were very nice and quiet and so beautiful. It was a breath of fresh air to be able to get up in the morning and sit outside and sip a cup of coffee or tea and listen to the birds chirping and to enjoy the beautiful flowers all around the grounds. The cottages are very clean and neat and have all the necessary accommodations. You only need to bring yourself, your clothes and maybe a few groceries if you want to eat in on some nights. We even gt to bring our dog with us to stay. You can have a pet as long as they are well behaved and don't bark a lot and you take care of them and pick up after them. There is a small deposit that you do need to pay fr the animal that is...
