We ventured to Hickory on a Saturday JUST to visit this park after seeing a splashpad with the same large bucket and other equipment as a very nice park near Detroit, MI. There is a large, circular pavilion with benches next to the splashpad. The closest bathrooms are up the hill by the parking lot. This park features about 4 ball fields. The all abilities playground is fabulous! We enjoyed: -2 rope climbing areas -inground, long slide down a hill -Giant, shaded treehouse-like area to hang out in during those super sunny or drizzling days -faux rock tunnel for shaded play -paved, short trail leading to the top of the slide and around to between the playground and splashpad areas (also passes another set of bathrooms) with a great view overlooking the park -big seesaw sensation equipment that could probably accommodate a wheelchair -a mostly enclosed "egg" chair with holes that spins (you can sit with a person unable to hold a bar to spin on other playgrounds' equipment for vestibular stimulation, older kids and small bodied adults may be able to enjoy this solo with someone applying force to spin it from...

They should of had it fixed before now before a kid gets hurt plus the rock climbing thing was blocked off with a cloth thing ... I think they need to get more stuff there bc it's just not big enough esp with the stuff that's broken ... Growing up we had metal slides, were they hot yes sir they were but they didn't break or hurt anyone and they were way better u would slide down it no problem u didn't get stuck, my 2 year old kept getting stuck on the long plastic slide now if that thing was metal he would of went down no problem .... N kids wouldn't have to wait for him to figure out what to do bc he...
