Kiwanis Park is located in Hickory, NC. Our grand children live coming here! Featuring two picnic shelters with tables and grills, tennis court, outdoor basketball court, four lighted baseball fields, two batting cages, walking trail, restrooms, two concession stands, Charles D. Dixon Memorial Splash Pad, and two playgrounds, including the Zahra Baker All Children’s Playground and treehouse. The Zahra Baker All Children’s Playground and Treehouse at Kiwanis Park are popular destinations in Hickory’s park system with play space for people of all ages and abilities. In honor and memory of Zahra Baker, this playground provides amenities that are accommodating to individuals with disabilities, including wheelchair-accessible ramps and rides, multiple ground-level activities, educational and sensory elements, and inclusive play products.

One of the best parks I have been to in a while. I am a Winston-Salem native but used to live in Hickory before kids and never knew about Kiwanis šŸžļø Park. This park has something for everyone. Amazing playgrounds and playsets including a giant slide down a hill. They have a huge sandbox with a working excavator toy, a play boat, climbing structures, music features, and handicap accessible play sets. The park itself is also ♿ handicap accessible with parking and seating. There is adjoining ⚾ ball fields, amphitheater, šŸŽ¾ tennis courts, public restrooms and 🧺 picnic shelters, and an amazing splash pad for the hot summer months.

We brought the granddaughter to play after we celebrated her 9th birthday. It was our first visit. It is a beautiful sentiment and memorial to the young lady that lost her life so horrifically. There were so many families there with their young children, enjoying all the different playground equipment, which also included a tennis court and picnic area. We will definitely be back, and next time, take advantage of the water park located in the adjacent fenced area, which also includes multiple baseball fields.

We ventured to Hickory on a Saturday JUST to visit this park after seeing a splashpad with the same large bucket and other equipment as a very nice park near Detroit, MI. There is a large, circular pavilion with benches next to the splashpad. The closest bathrooms are up the hill by the parking lot. This park features about 4 ball fields. The all abilities playground is fabulous! We enjoyed: -2 rope climbing areas -inground, long slide down a hill -Giant, shaded treehouse-like area to hang out in during those super sunny or drizzling days -faux rock tunnel for shaded play -paved, short trail leading to the top of the slide and around to between the playground and splashpad areas (also passes another set of bathrooms) with a great view overlooking the park -big seesaw sensation equipment that could probably accommodate a wheelchair -a mostly enclosed "egg" chair with holes that spins (you can sit with a person unable to hold a bar to spin on other playgrounds' equipment for vestibular stimulation, older kids and small bodied adults may be able to enjoy this solo with someone applying force to spin it from...

Slides were busted and broken and they had yellow tape on it but kids were still climbing on it... They should of had it fixed before now before a kid gets hurt plus the rock climbing thing was blocked off with a cloth thing ... I think they need to get more stuff there bc it's just not big enough esp with the stuff that's broken ... Growing up we had metal slides, were they hot yes sir they were but they didn't break or hurt anyone and they were way better u would slide down it no problem u didn't get stuck, my 2 year old kept getting stuck on the long plastic slide now if that thing was metal he would of went down no problem .... N kids wouldn't have to wait for him to figure out what to do bc he...
