This place is way overpriced given the area. I was introduced to this place through one of my child’s field trip and decided to take my family here only to be closely and physically monitored more than half the time. I do not have any autistic kids by the way. We had a male coworker literally standing close by my kids, even when I was supervising, fixing literally every single thing along as my kids were playing. It was super awkward and uncomfortable to have strangers that close up in you and your child’s personal space making you feel like you’re unwanted company. As a parent of an autistic child, it is often challenging to find a venue that provides a safe and inclusive play area. However, from the moment my daughter Aiden and I arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the friendly staff. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was amazing and offered numerous resources while embracing us with a remarkably positive attitude, which helped alleviate some of my anxiety during our initial visit. We made a special trip from Boone down to Hickory which was an hour and 15 minutes one way. but boy oh boy was it ever worth it. my 3-year-old and 7 year old grandchildren have been non-stop playing for the last two and a half hours and neither looks like they're ready to stop. The variety of Hands-On activities, problem solving creative thinking physical toys, swings, tents even a zipline. opportunities abound for pretend and make believe; a playhouse, a kitchen, manipulatives galore. The staff is extremely friendly and kind. The facility is meticulously maintained and clean. My only frustration is that we don't have one of these in Boone of this size...
