Went to that specific Golden Coral to have a decent meal, paid for our food and drink and set our belongings at our table, while fixing our plates I had good service from a chef named Jesus,he was cooking pork but he had some in a warmer already cooked, he was very courteous and then moved over to the salad bar and Maria was working it she was nice as well, I had pointed out green spots on the shredded parmesan cheese and she replaced it immediately, came back to table and went through numerous packs of silverware because silverware was dirty, and after about 5 tries finally got clean utensils, approximately 18 minutes after we set our belongings down the busser named sissy finally approached our table drinks were empty for awhile we had manager add tea started eating food and noticed a medium length hair at bottom of the boiled cabbage took pictures of it, then brought it to the managers attention and I covered that plate with the cabbage and hair with a clean plate as to not scared rest of the customers off and sit back down to get something else to eat so got a new plate and glove and it had a sharp edge so we pointed it out, then got a different plate to get a small salad and a small desert upon leaving asked manager to at least comp one of the meals because the medium length hair in the bottom of the cabbage , I have barely any hair at all so wasn't mine, so he offered to comp the meal, but when the second person at my table asked him his name he decided not to comp anything, because we couldn't understand what he was saying about his name being Jim, he up and yelled fu*k it and that we needed to leave without a refund on that plate of food with the hair in it...and said call whoever you want to call , so I leave a rating here and contacting corporate office with a formal complaint...and the meatloaf tasted like dog food and was hard...
Read moreMy husband and I were in Hickory for the homecoming football game at Lenior-Rhyne University this past Saturday, October 22. We decided to eat lunch at The Golden Corral on Lenior-Rhyne Blvd. It is a very busy restaurant at that time of day. My husband and I each visited the bathrooms. What we encountered was appalling. My husband could only speak about the urinal looking as if someone had poured antifreeze in it, so he used the toilet. The women’s bathroom was far worse. The first stall on the left had feces stuck to the inside of the toilet bowl. I tried to flush it down and it wouldn’t move. The next stall had black stuff all around the toilet (I assume feces as well). The other stalls, the last one on the left and ones on the right were occupied. I used the last one on the right. It was a handicapped stall. On the back of the toilet was what appeared to be an adult diaper wrapped in toilet paper. However, the toilet appeared clean so I used that one. This is extremely unsanitary. I realize that the restaurant was very busy, but someone should be monitoring the bathrooms. An out-of-order sign on the two stalls would have helped and a trash can in the handicapped stall would have kept that stall from being unsavory. My dining experience was negatively affected by the nasty conditions of the bathroom. I can understand why this chain of restaurants has closed in other towns if this is what is going on. I didn't...

Pandemic going on they would have cleaned everything better .I really want to leave emeditley. But we had drove 45 min to get there and was hungry so we ask for our table and setting to be cleaned and gave it a try .The food was cold and when my husband asked for a steak to be cooked the cook said what he had fresh so he got it.It was not the color of a fresh stak and it was cold so he did not eat it. He ask that cashier to look at the steak that was given to him and if she thought it looked like a fresh steak.
