This stadium has convenient 🎫 purchasing options. Seating is great; no matter where you sit, you will be able to see the game as if it's up close. The screen is large and you can visibly make out the players' names and numbers. There is no shortage of food or snacks. I didn't personally purchase any concessions, so I can't speak on the price or quality, but I saw the usual items that are normally at a game, ice cream from 2 different places - one was Sweet 🐸 and I can't remember the other one, 🍿, and we were given a box of PDQ and a bottle of water when we entered. The box contained 🐔 nuggets and a bag of chips. I split my nuggets with the kids I was with and just ate the chips. They were fresh and delicious. Everyone said the nuggets were very good, too. The game went by quick and the crowd was into it. We went during kid's week, so there were groups there, but we still got our 🎟 quickly and were sitting down within 10 minutes. I have no doubt that had we gone during a normal time that we would have been able to get the 🎟 and sit down even sooner. Ten minutes is pretty good for it being kid's week. If you want something fun to do that won't cost you an arm and a leg, get 🎟 to a game here. I will say that the seats and drink holders were not clean at all, but it's a stadium, so I expected and planned for some dirt. The gum on the drink holder was a bit surprising, but I didn't use it for my drink anyway. Also, if you're not sitting on one of the aisle seats, it might be difficult to navigate around the other people in your row. It's not very handicap friendly or accessible, either. I saw at least 3 people struggling. I didn't use the bathroom or visit the concessions, so I also can't speak on those. I will return again in the future and post an update. It was overall...
Read moreMy wife and I had friends visiting from Germany and their son wanted to go to a baseball game so we went last night. After a rain delay the game started and was good except for a group of older men down in front of us right behind the home plate. These guys were ridiculous. They had signs and posters and a bull horn and we're constantly heckling the visiting team. They were looking up previous stats of the other teams players and shouting out the bad plays and errors that they'd made in previous games which had nothing to do with last night's game. My wife and I and the people sitting behind us not to mention our visiting friends from Europe found all of their antics very distracting and annoying. To us it showed little respect for the other teams players. It's one thing to have team spirit, but this was overboard we thought. It just wasn't a true representation of good American people. Just poor behavior from the local redneck population trying their best to insult and make the other teams players feel bad when they were simply there doing their best to play the game. I hope other stadiums don't show this kind of annoying and rude behavior at their games. And we hope that the Crawdads management put a stop to this...
Read moreDon't waste your time going here. Better options in Asheville, Greensboro, Winston-Salem, Greenville, Durham, Zebulon, Columbia, & Charlotte. Take your pick. A group of overzealous "fans' (I use that word extremely loosely) in one section ruined the whole experience of watching a game for me. The stadiums I listed above do not subscribe to that sort of nonsense.
The stadium looks dated even though I think they made renovations pretty recently. Concession stands were limited on their fare and no real bells or whistles to the whole Hickory experience. If I had to pick a positive or two I would say the employees were friendly and parking was plentiful near the stadium with a good police presence outside the stadium. I have visited 27 ballparks in as many different cities and I have to honestly say I have absolutely no desire to visit this one...
