Waffle House — Restaurant in Hickory

This was the most horrible experience I've ever had at any restaurant in 40yrs. The staff was disorganized unprofessional and rude. Not only did they flat out refuse to make our takeout missing out on an 100 tab but the place was disgusting not a clean table counter the bathroom smelled and was gross. Plenty of ppl on staff to handle to slow flow they had but would rather stand and giggle talk or use their phones rather than clean a dish. Got time to lean got time to clean! I asked for the name of the regional manager and was told they didn't know it and the manager was on the phone with an employee and also said they didn't know who it was I got it offline TKS for nothing. This store is a disgrace to the wh name. Sad theyve allowed ppl such as these to be the face of the company not 1 employee was doing what had to be done in the 30 mins I spent arguing with the. I was told to go to hickory nc and it's a ways from my house I live in Wilkes/Lenoir line but we did we was buying for our grandchildren and their mother who were sleeping at home let me say hi Kory was beyond swamped and still place was spotless bathroom tidy and although we had to wait 30mins we was given our order with no fuss no drama Teagan was awesome the food great and service impeccable. Biscuits were frozen so they wouldn't throw one on the grill. - Lack of Food Preparation. As a former WH Employee, you should have plenty of biscuits dethawed for the day. Management is slacking.

If you intend to have a biscuit, I recommend going to a different store.

Will not be giving a single store a 4 or 5 star review until they discontinue the additional .50c per egg. Other restaurant chains are already calling out WH for scamming people on eggs. This egg shortage is fake in most areas

Bacon was near raw. I ordered burnt. Eggs were not well done as ordered, instead, they were cooked lightly.

Hashbrowns are burnt - Specifically ordered not burnt.

Worst service I've ever been provided at a WH. Bacon is currently on grill at the time of this photo.

Silverware are dirty.

Overall: Bacon came out terrible. No biscuits. Eggs not cooked completely. Hashbrowns burnt. Management is awful - food prep not conpleted for the day, (1:30pm). Food prep should be completed in the menu to cover the entire shift. Then prepare other needs for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

We came around 3:45 in the morning after leaving the one in Lenoir because they were only doing take out orders. I called ahead to make sure we wouldn’t run into the same experience. Recording said come in and dine in. We get there and we were told immediately by the staff outside it was to go only. Keep in mind there was a man sitting there acting like a bouncer. His Daughter worked there and was pregnant. She was sitting to the side eating. There was a couple guys sitting at a booth with their food getting fixed and it was served to them to eat there. We were told the reason it was take out only is because they were short staffed and the shift before left a mess for them to deal with. The Diet Coke I ordered apparently had been out for a few days and was awful tasting. With all that said. We take our food home to eat it and they didn’t even get the orders right. We have ate at several waffle houses between NC and SC. This will be the last time at this one. I did leave a tip for out TO GO ORDER.
