Islander's Beach Park offers everything you need for a family with kids...a clean playground, a nice eating gazibo, beautiful beach access and clean restrooms. We visit Hilton Head 6-8 times a year and we almost always make at least one trip to Islander's Beach Park because the kids love the playground, the swings, the gazibo eating area and the semi-private beach access. The restrooms are consistently cleaned plus the beach access has a nice hard blue rubber mat that takes anyone with a stroller or rolling beach buggy straight on to the harder sand if the beach. The playground us very well maintained and has a well deesigned flow, allowing parents to easily watch their kids, even if they have multiple that all like different things (like our three). The trees and open ground are great for kicking a ball with the kids, while having full visibility to the kids on the playground and the swings. Just be careful not to kick the ball too high or it could get stuck in a tree (see attached photo), that might take 50-60 throws of a stick to get down (notice the full action picture attached...I did finally get it down). The kids also love the cool alligator bike rack when you approach the steps to the beach access (see photos attached). The beach view from the beach access is beautiful and the ramp is well-maintained along with the rinse off area, avoiding splinters even if you or the kids choose not to wear shoes (we choose to pick our battles with the kids). This is definitely one of our favorite parks and the paid parking is definitely worth it, but remember to bring quarters since they haven't converted to credit cards yet.

We wanted to go to the beach and we were not staying by the water. We picked this public beach because it was wheelchair accessible. They have beach wheelchairs that you can rent if available. You go on the website to reserve ahead of time if you need one. We didn’t end up needing the wheelchair but it was a great little beach. You could rent chairs and umbrellas. Which we did because we didn’t have the ability to haul anything in. Then sat by the beach on a nice warm summer day. Couldn’t get much better with the salty sticky breeze. I would recommend this beach. It was great. Like any of the beaches you do have to walk in if you need to use the restrooms. Nothing on the beach other than the ocean. Lol. They had lifeguards on duty monitoring the beach and the waters. You do need to bring your money or change to pay to park. Which is normal around Hilton head public parking areas.

Very clean beach with hard compact sand on low tide (see photos). Only about twelve meters with quarter slots for public use. Compared to about what seemed to be four or five times that amount in pass spots for residents only. So basically it’s a Hilton Head residential beach with a handful of public spots and handicap spots. Which I might add at the time of day we went 80% of the lot was empty and we had to walk really far past dozens of empty parking spots for residents only. I opted to not return to this beach again during our stay on HH. I didn’t feel like dealing with quarters or fighting for the twelve spots.

2025-10-07 We've moved our Tuesday evening jam sessions earlier to compensate for it getting dark earlier. We're there from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. for the rest of October.

The park continues to improve. It's a lovely spot under the pavilion in the and the playground.

Our Hilton Head beaches are amazing. 🩵🌻🌴🌻🩵

2025-07-22 Have another wonderful jam session this afternoon. 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Got caught in the rain just as we were doing the last song.

The town continues to do improvements to the park. It's going to be delightful when they get it done.

Tuesday evening Jam Sessions ROCK!

Our Hilton Head Jammers group is back at Islanders' Beach under The pavilion each Tuesday evening, right now from 4:30 to 6:30 pm and we will move to 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in another few weeks when it gets later. It's a wonderful few hours of music and friendship. And the park is awesome and the beach is amazing.

Tonight was a bit strange. We canceled playing because of the tornado watch and the rains. I swung by and there was no car in the parking lot, it was rather eerie. Better safe than sorry.

I am thankful the Islanders have a place to go.

2023-05-09 - still as beautiful as ever. Signing up for the new passes online worked smoothly and easily and I immediately had a confirmation by email. I'm hoping the change in the way the passes are tracked works out. Only time...

Found the beach only because my husband said, "Look up Handicap accessible beach in Hilton Head." (BEST IDEA OF THE YEAR AWARD GOES TO) Broke my ankle a little over a week ago and was not going to cancel our trip meant for mostly our daughter! Tips ✅ Go before 10am during holidays ✅ Bring $1.75 for meter parking if you're an out of tower and it only takes quarters 🙄(thankfully I had some) (gives you 1hr 45mins) ✅ Extra toys for children available ✅ Boardwalk all the way up to the beach ✅ Clean Bathroom ✅ Showers ✅ Sitting areas to rest from the walk to and from the beach

We really enjoyed the beach! It's better for an auto wheelchair or someone pushing you, the inclines and declines are a bit much.

My husband is pro "for the culture" and we were the only chocolate chips in a bag full of vanilla cookies🤣. He really wanted to go to another location, however he went for my sake, so if you are disabled via walking, THIS IS AN 👌🏾 EXCELLENT LOCATION! I was so happy to go and just be at the beach, even though I couldn't go...
