Had the great misfortune of going to the dining club today. Let me start with the waitress was overwhelmed from the start and it went down hill from there. She was very nice but either never was trained to work in the restaurant or was trained by someone who was incompetent. We had a large party of people at 2 tables, she took drink order from only one table after having to chase her down because she was trying to take care of way to many tables. Only brought some of the drinks to the one table had to ask a second time to get a drink for someone after she said they didn't order it. Never asked if anyone at the table I was sitting at wanted a drink. Went up to the salad bar and food was just sitting out. The macaroni and potato salads were not even in ice and was room temperature. No taste to it at all. The salad they had was limp and very unattractive. We had to wait almost 2 hours for the first table to order food, what a mistake they ordered hamburgers 2 and a pulled pork sandwich. Waited over a hour for the food to come out. The hamburgers were still partially frozen. Sent back and by then lost interest in eating. She finally took our order only after having to find her. We waited almost 2 hours for our food. I ordered tuna salad sandwich. It was all dried out like it was sitting out all day, chicken salad sandwich someone else ordered was swimming in mayonnaise. The other sandwiches were just as bad. Kept getting apology form the waitress about how backed up the kitchen was and how they didn't think it was gonna be busy, one member of our table had to wait another 15 minutes before the food came out. The manager came over and talked to our first table, about all the terrible food they received. She could care a less by the way you could tell her responses were. Her answer was sorry but oh well. How she is the manager of this place is beyond me, she is completely incompetent as a manager. Her answer to solve the problem was to give a group of 11 people 4 small pieces of cake. I will never eat here again. The bill for this outing was over $480. Monmouth Park management should be completely embarrassed with the way the place is run. I went and should of known better then eat here with all the negative reviews. I would love for someone from Monmouth Park upper management reach out to...
Read moreWe had our wedding here on 10/13/18 and I can not say enough good things about our experience! We happened to be their first wedding with their new group sales team and everything was so perfect you would have never known. Casey and his staff were incredible to work with, very accommodating and really made us feel totally at ease. Not only Casey's staff, but everyone in the entire building from security guards to plumbers and electricians, to the wait staff and bartenders, were all so very kind and very obviously really cared. The food was phenomenal, our guests kept asking who catered because they couldn't believe how gourmet the food was. The grounds are beautiful and different, lots of different places to take pictures and many different rooms and areas outside to hold cocktail hour/reception/ceremony. The Turf Club room where our reception was looks very plain/boring empty and in daylight, but it was absolutely beautiful all decorated and with the sun setting through the huge windows. Casey really went above and beyond, he even surprised us with hot apple cider during cocktail hour (which was held outside) because it was a little chilly. We are so very happy we chose this venue for...
Read moreRecently reviewed this place on FB with four stars. Less than a month later, I’m offering another review with three. Last month, we were leaving the park when their rent-a-cop cursed at my boyfriend...only to find out the same thing happened to another couple the same day. Yesterday we went back and found ourselves harassed at the gates by alcohol patrol...a kid that didn’t even appear old enough to consume alcohol interrogated us over every single item in our coolers...uncapping each bottle of water to sniff the contents. We had nothing suspicious in our possession and while we understand the rules of the park, we also respect them. We’re paying to enjoy ourselves at this place, we do not need to stand there for five minutes and explain what’s in every single bottle we have. He would ask us what’s in each bottle, then open each one to confirm. We had water bottles (it was 95 degrees) and two containers of juice (my bf is diabetic and we try to keep fluid with sugar on hand). Unfortunately, as we approached the gates, we also witnessed him doing the same thing to an elderly couple. I never had this trouble entering the park until this year. Unnecessary and...
