The park before the treck is amazing if you have smalls. The treck itself is good for cardio, and that is about it. It is very overgrown, and people are completely disrespectful. There is graffiti everywhere. The gnats are enough to drive you crazy, so use bug spray.
There is a set of steps about halfway up on the right. They take you to an open area. If you turn right, you go back out to the path. Left, and you take a trek through the wood.
The destination is extremely overgrown and riddled with graffiti. I see where people have gone up the steps, but it wasn't something I thought would be safe. The steps are supposed to be locked for that reason. Proceed at your own risk.

There are cell towers on top so it is plowed in the Winter. EASY walk.
The Tower is intact and accessible. Great views 360°!!!
Make no mistake, this area is not safe after dark. I have no personal experience, but the amount illicit trash, gang tags, and general graffiti all over.
