The beach area was strewn with large chunks of concrete and there was not enough sand for even one person to comfortable lay on the beach anywhere and seaweed in the water. I attempted to snorkel here in December and it was too rough and dangerous. I would not recommend the beach or the snorkeling. The visibility was poor and I got scratched up on the large rocks due to the large waves crashing and breaking where the snorkeling supposedly is good. There weren't even that many fish. Park in the neighborhood and be respectful to the people who live there, walk a short bit to the beach and you are met with lovely rocky and sandy shore and pretty views. I don't think it's great for swimming because the water stays fairly shallow and a bit rocky. This is a good spot to catch a tan or take a picnic. the beach is really narrow and the waves come all the way up to where people's yards end (beachfront property).
recommend street parking on Kulamanu St/Place, if you can find any, then walking in. it's the closest to the beach...
