Having been to the other Hmart in Honolulu, I am pretty underwhelmed with this location. My first experience with Hmart was at the other location so I had certain expectations before walking in. Firstly, the parking lot is very tiny, limited to maybe at most 20 spots. Second, there were 3 grocery carts available for use. And when I went into the store, I assumed there would be more available for use but there wasn't. And, the other customers weren't pushing around any either. There were also no baskets available for use, which I find odd. People were carrying around items in their arms, like what? Thirdly, my 5 year old had to use the restroom and the cashier told me to go to the back as there was another customer about to use the restroom and she claimed she had a key to enter said restroom. Well, upon arriving to the back, an employee was using the restroom and a customer was waiting for the bathroom but she had no key, so when she exited after the employee had already left, the door was locked when we had to use it. So we had to go back to the cashier to get the key that she never gave to her coworker to begin with. ๐ And, the restroom was incredibly disgusting. Hair, brown stuff and wet puddles were around the toilet. I get it, it's a grocery store but take a little more pride in keeping things clean. Fourthly, the Korean products (which, it is a Korean store), were half and half to Filipino products. I have no problem with the fact that there were other ethnic foods mixed in BUT it was just no where as organized, clean, or stocked full of Korean grocery items as the...
ย ย ย Read moreA great Hmart grocery store. You will find your Asian ethnic ingredients here. The products are easy to look for. Items were all in stock. But, this Hmart is much smaller compared to the bigger ones we've been to. You will still be able to find you usual ethnic ingredients and foods and snacks. The carts here are very limited. We had to find one outside that wasn't in use. The employees were nice. For a "smaller" version of Hmart, it wasn't too bad. Parking is extremely limited and you will have to be pretty lucky to find a spot but there is street parking if you really need something from here. Overall, a good Hmart store to grab drinks, snacks, And...
ย ย ย Read moreWhat is going on here??? A contender to the well known Korean Supermarket chain Palama??? Not! These guys have been here just as long as Palama, only their location has changed and name replaced. But don't get turned off by all the corporate hoopla here, the staff and the variety is still the same. The best gimchee is sold here (in bags). They have different levels of bagged gimchee also ie; 1st tier (leaves only) 2nd tier (leaves and sprouts) 3rd tier (everything from leaves, sprouts to roots) . Undoubtedly the best homestyle gimchee money can buy in Hawaii on a commercial...
