Kalihi-Palama Library — Attraction in Honolulu

On 09/23/2023 my wife and I (we’re both librarians) Decided to go visit the local public library, upon entering the Kalihi-Pālama Public Library, we were immediately struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff members promptly greeted us with genuine smiles and a true passion for their work. From the friendly security guard to the knowledgeable librarians, it was evident that their dedication to providing exceptional services was ingrained within the library's ethos.

The two librarians we met (sadly we missed their names) were particularly impressive in their wealth of knowledge and consummate professionalism. They approached our inquiries with genuine interest, going above and beyond to assist us. Not only did they provide comprehensive answers to our questions, but they also showcased the library's vast collection and its diverse range of resources. The staff's incredible dedication to guiding patrons through an array of services truly distinguished the Kalihi-Pālama Public Library as one that values education, enrichment, and community engagement.

Furthermore, we were impressed by the library's commitment to fostering a sense of community and inclusivity. The Kalihi-Pālama Public Library not only offers a plethora of programs designed to cater to all age groups and interests but also engages with diverse cultural communities through events and exhibitions celebrating local traditions.

Drawing a comparison between the Kalihi-Pālama Public Library and our Library system in Texas, we recognized a common dedication to meeting the needs of the community.

We left the Kalihi-Pālama Public Library with much happiness.
