Beautiful sunny day enhanced by the beach park and surroundings. Park used by Japanese group celebrating a wedding with decorations and a BBQ. A few wind surfers hoping for the right combination of wind and waves. My visit was primarily to take photos of Koko Head vista as seen from the park. Couldn't ask for a better setting. Adequate but not ample benches and tables, a pavilion and passable rest room facilities for a public park. Not smelly but as clean as can be expected given the location. A number of picnic tables and a couple charcoal pits. Public bathroom and shower. Great views of Koko Head and Hanauma Crater.
There are better swimming beaches nearby but nice for some...

Lots of fishermen and surfers come here as the water is very shallow but it's not beachy...only a few spots along the beach to comfortably sit. It's a slope. Other than I love this park. You can definitely throw a mean cookout here. Also catch either sunrise or sunset! It's quite reefy with kukui nuts and coconuts on the ground. Please forgive the homeless as they tend to trash the place and leave items. Looks like I might have to bring my gloves and trash bags again. This'll be my 3rd cleanup. Aloha and mahalo for reading. Enjoy life respectfully and...
