I've been eating at this restaurant since i was a child. Food has always been decent. In the past two yrs the quality of the food has changed from decent to poor and the pricing has increased substantially. I know management has changed through the family. the younger generation seems to focus on profits not building relationships with their customers to keep them coming back. During this time with COVID i wanted to support all the restaurants i eat at. i placed a order back in April 2020 and had no issues with the order. I even tipped for the takeout order. on May 14 2020, i placed another order for a client. totaling over $100. I tipped again for the take out order. Getting to the house, i checked the order and found the most expensive item not in the order. Called the restaurant 4X- have phone log to prove the calls- and the phone was busy then they never answered. Came back on Sat to speak with the manager. A woman asked me for the receipt, said i needed that for the refund.The receipt was with the client. I had to bother the client for the REAL receipt. Drove 20 mins back to clients house then 20 mins back to restaurant only to be completely disrespected by this young, bullish, unkind, uncaring, thoughtless hostess/manager. He showed no concern about the circumstances the restaurant created or what he could do to make things right between this long time customer- to rebuild the trust and customer loyalty ive had for over a few decades. I demanded a refund. The manager kept refusing. I looked for a sign that said NO REFUNDS.. There was no sign present. I informed him, his choice to not refund me for their wrong will be rightfully disputed and a BAD review will be written. Mind you i did tip the restaurant. this blatant disrespect and no concern towards their wrong doing shows A LOT ABOUT THIS RESTAURANT. What their importance is.I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS RESTAURANT EVER AGAIN. The food was horribly full of oil. Fried Noodles not cooked-limp , no sauces for the gau gee, portions looked like they were halved. From this one experience it looks like they are Gauging their customers and trying to skim profits where they can. Very sad to see this happen. Read moreDO NOT EAT HERE. I found a piece of metal and a dead cockroach in my food. The metal looks like it broke off of a stainless steel scouring sponge. I ordered two takeout plates for my husband, toddler and me to share: a dinner plate and a plate of soft gau gee min. The metal was found in the soft gau gee min, and the dead cockroach was found in the sweet sour spareribs portion of the dinner plate. Luckily, none of us ingested the metal or the cockroach, especially my toddler!!!
I called the restaurant two days in a row and asked to speak to a manager or the owner, and both times was told that no manager or owner was working. I gave my name and phone number both times, and was told both times that the owner - a man named Terry - would call me back.
No one called me back. Instead of calling a third time and speaking to a third worker, I went in person. With my husband and toddler. I asked to speak to Terry and was told by a male worker that Terry was not there. I asked for a manager and was told no manager was working. Besides the male at the register that I was speaking to, there was another male working as well as a female. The female was sitting at a table in the restaurant making what looked like wonton, with her bare hands. She was not wearing gloves as she dipped her hands into a large bowl of raw meat and put a bit of meat into a piece of raw dough.
I showed the male at the register a photo of the metal and roach found in my food, showed him my receipt, and asked for a refund. He said he couldn’t help me. I asked him to call Terry and he said he didn’t know his phone number. I asked him to call a manager and he refused. He pointed to a sign on the wall that said, “ALL SALES FINAL/NO REFUNDS OR EXCHANGES.” After that, he walked away from the counter and started packaging another customer’s order and ignored me. The other two workers also refused to help me.

When I got to the counter and asked if I could dined in she ask how many people I told her it would only be me because my siblings where looking at other locations. Has I placed the order my sister's came in to add her order. The total come to $94 for only 5 plates. So I canceled one of the plates. The total was $73.83 before paying i asked how big are the plates she showed me a dined in plate for sample. Then we paid, once we paid I asked if we could set down she said you have to tip to dined in. So my sister told her canceled the order and give me, my money back. She refused and she that it was being made already, but we had just finish paying 1 minutes ago. She to call 911, then said she was going to call 911 but instead try to call the security. So, I called the security service Chad was is name, he could do anything if she refuses, So I said thank you and hanged up and proceed to call 911. Has he arrived the lady put the food out and set it on the counter. We explained the situation, he spoke to her. Asked what can we do to resolve the problem. I told him that I was willing to has longest she let's me set in dined. She refued, she said we had give tip to dined in. We had second police officer came and try to resolve the problem. She was in sock and told us that they never heard of a restaurant asking for tip just to dined in. For being my first time in Hawaii this has been the worst experience. Even the officer (Kat) said that she was embarrassed of the service we were receiving and that's not the Aloha way.
