Sandy Beach is the equivalent to Big Beach on Maui, wave-wise, though not even half as big land-wise. THE BEACH: The sand is soft and white, the waves are usually bigger than normal which is great for boogie & body boarding. The east end is rocky and sports a shallow reef, while the west end is more sandy and swimmable. Lifeguards are on duty. THE PARK: A big grassy field separates the beach and the highway and is popular with kite flyers. FACILITIES: There are 2 restroom facilities at both ends of the park, and showers at the west end. PARKING: There is a small amount of paved spots within the park, or along the highway shoulder. TIPS: Sometimes there are food trucks and vendors selling items along the highway. My friend got some chilled, fresh lychee, $5 for a small bag. There is hardly any shade on the beach except from a few tiny coconut trees, so bring an umbrella. OVERALL: Great for the boogie/body boarder or just people watching.

Went there with my family to get family photos taken, a little more wind there and the waves were a lot bigger than here in Kailua Beach, still very beautiful place 🤟

Well the initial review just about says it! Great waves for surfers, boogie boarders, body surfers and swimmers, etc. the ride to and from the beach is very scenic with great views at sunrise and sunset. There was also a few life guards on duty, a shaved ice truck and a huge grassy park area with picnic benches and restrooms! Great beach! I highly...

This is a fantastic surfing beach! There is ample sand, public restrooms and outdoor showers and even food trucks on site most days. If you want to experience wading into heavy surf on sand this is the place for you! You’ll also get the impressive sights of all skill levels of surfers riding the ways (just don’t wade in...
