Wawamalu Beach Park — Attraction in Honolulu

This is a great place to hang, get a little sun, wade in the water and play around the rocks. If you look where the water makes little ponds in the shore rocks, you can find all kinds of cute little sea creatures. We especially love when we find stunning little tropical fish just hanging out and playing around. There are a couple areas to pull in and park off the road. The last one if you're driving towards Waimanalo, has showers and a restroom that are always nice and clean. It's typically always super sunny here, so make sure you load up on sunblock. Great beach but be careful. I’ve bodysurfed and boogie boarded in some big waves but this place was wild and totally different due to the break. Lifeguard said it’s the #1 beach in the world for spinal cord injuries because the waves are huge and break so close to shore. I’m 6’4, 210 lbs and those waves absolutely tossed me around. It was a ton of fun and caught some great waves but I also had all the right gear with me unlike others that got in the way and some looked like they left hurt.
