This is a great place to hang, get a little sun, wade in the water and play around the rocks. If you look where the water makes little ponds in the shore rocks, you can find all kinds of cute little sea creatures. We especially love when we find stunning little tropical fish just hanging out and playing around. There are a couple areas to pull in and park off the road. The last one if you're driving towards Waimanalo, has showers and a restroom that are always nice and clean. It's typically always super sunny here, so make sure you load up on sunblock. You won't realize until night or next morning that you got burnt to a crisp. If you're visiting, I can't say it enough... I don't care how tan you are, you will burn and ruin your trip. Wear 50 and please...

Wawamalu Beach Park is a coastal paradise offering both relaxation and adventure. With its golden sands and gentle waves, it's the perfect spot for bodyboarding enthusiasts. The waves here are just right – not too big, not too small – making it ideal for riders of all levels. Plus, for surfers, there are some nice waves to catch and ride.

Beyond the water, the park provides amenities like picnic tables and shaded areas, perfect for a beachside cookout or a break from the sun. Whether you're seeking thrills or simply a day of leisure, Wawamalu Beach Park has something for everyone. Great beach but be careful. I’ve bodysurfed and boogie boarded in some big waves but this place was wild and totally different due to the break. Lifeguard said it’s the #1 beach in the world for spinal cord injuries because the waves are huge and break so close to shore. I’m 6’4, 210 lbs and those waves absolutely tossed me around. It was a ton of fun and caught some great waves but I also had all the right gear with me unlike others that got in the way and some looked like they left hurt. If you know what you’re doing and the waves are right, you will absolutely love it. If not, stay away and go to another beach. If in doubt,...

This is and excellent spot for many types of surfing activities. Watch as the locals show their skills. Also offers an area for swimming. Waves can be strong so dont go out far into the water. Lifeguards are on standby. Some areas might be rocky but you can walk to find a swimming spot. Parking is abundant but might still have to wait due to the popularity of the park or you can park further down. Nearby restroom offers outdoor shower for rinsing. Indoor to change and pee. Number 2 if you are desperate since cubicles has no doors

#grateful this is an amazing beach, known as Sandy’s, however it is a very dangerous beach. It is AKA known as brokeneck beach because it is the number one beach in the world for broken necks. So if you go be sure to know the ocean and its strength. The waves here are not like normal waves they are thicker and because of that, they are heavier. I believe that the current coming to the east around Hanauma Bay join with the waves coming in from the ocean and together they spiral into waves more powerful.
