The Escape Adventures Escape Room — Attraction in Hopewell

Went for my mom's birthday and we had a lot of fun ! We did the Clockwork Odyssey room. The puzzles are very clever and well put together and the pacing was great, we never felt stuck for too long but we didn't fly through everything right away either. There were some really unique mechanisms as well (the train was a huge hit!!!). I will say with it being a newer room it did have some technical difficulties that needed the help of the gamemaster to correct, we personally didn't mind & still had a great time/nothing was ruined for us (he paused the time to fix them & gave us an extra try on one puzzle), but if you think that would interrupt your flow too much you may wanna try one of the other rooms first and wait for them to work out some of the kinks there. The gamemaster was very friendly and knowledgeable and we could tell he really loves his job. We have done other escape rooms in the Richmond area and I would say this is comparable in terms of puzzles and themeing, as well as with price and ease of the booking/arrival/etc process. We escaped! We really had a lot of fun doing Blackbeard’s revenge, so we returned today with friends to try out Lab Rats. The hosts are super friendly and great at explaining the concept whether you’re new or experienced, and will help if all participants agree to ask for help, otherwise you’re free to challenge yourself! There are some really clever puzzles, and interactive gadgets that are designed/made in-house by the family that runs the business. It has been really fun to see how they have been growing & expanding their business, and to learn how each of them draw from previous careers to enhance the escape game rooms. They managed to surprise us with a few things, so it was quite fun! They also now have escape room board games available...

If you’re new to escape rooms or a seasoned player, this is one of those you must try. Family owned and run, the experience and hospitality alone is worth the visit. The rooms are a good difficulty and filled with intrigue to keep pushing you forward and onward to success. Great for a family night out or if you’re bored and looking for something to do. Highly recommended!
