If you love The Great British Bake Off, places like Brecotea, tea party worthy treats, or pretending you're in Paris for an afternoon, you NEED to visit this patisserie asap!

My husband and I have been dying to try one of those viral fruit pastries that you see online, and when I showed him a picture from this place of their adorable apples he could not get into the car fast enough!

We were helped by the café manager, who was incredibly kind, knowledgeable and helpful. She walked us through everything in the case. There are so many choices! There is nowhere else in the area to get true European style pastries and having lived overseas, it was so exciting to find the real deal.

We ended up getting not just the apples, but a whole assortment of things to share and try. The apples were absolutely worth the hype, though! They tasted as beautiful as they looked - clear, clean apple flavor consisting of light-as-air mousse, perfectly cooked and seasoned apples, and a lovely soft bit of cake. It exceeded my every expectation!

Among the other desserts we tried were the raspberry eclairs (the raspberry jam was the best I've ever had), the paris-brest (both the choux and the praline cream filling were extraordinary), the Religieuse (adorable, and a perfect treat if you're a cream puff lover), and a couple of cakes and tarts we're saving for tomorrow, as well as several gorgeous croissants.

The dark horse, however, was the loaf of cheddar jalapeño sourdough we got to go with our dinner. That has got to be one of the finest loaves I've had in years. I've also never had a better cheddar/jalapeño flavored item ever. It had a perfect crust and a beautifully tender interior, and was packed with flavor. Definitely don't miss the bread!

It was extremely clear, upon tasting everything, that they are using the highest quality ingredients. Both the flavor and texture of each item we tried were absolutely top notch. The level of skill of the baker is truly to be commended - everything is as beautiful as it is delicious.

It took us a little over 20 minutes to drive there from the Northside of Richmond, and honestly, it was so good it's absolutely a drive I'll regularly make. I mean, heck, it takes me 20 minutes to get a couple miles down Broad Street, and that does not reward me with anything nearly so special.

Don't sleep...

This place is one of my favorite patisserie/bakery. The staffs are so nice and friendly, along with a varying menu options.

Profiteroles, Blonde Cinnamon Rolls, Eclair, tarts, muffins, macarons, artisan breads, and savory biscuits are a staple menu. The patissier is very passionate about her craft and loves to try out new recipes, so there's always something new to try every week!

I recommend their signature Blonde Cinnamon Rolls if you prefer more americanized option as it is absolutely heavenly, but this shop specializes in European pastries. Anything with a pasty cream (Eclair, profiteroles, etc) are absolutely heavenly, and their macarons are affordable and has a perfect texture. The sweet selections tend to be on the less sweeter side, which is perfect for me.

This place is a real gem!

Their service is quite fast. The only thing that will delay you is the customers trying to decide what to get. I recommend going earlier than later because they sell out pretty quickly as they are popular in the...

We were absolutely thrilled to work with Sophia Marie Patisserie for our July wedding! Their lemon, fruit, and raspberry tarts made our dessert bar truly special. Each one was absolutely delicious and we barely had leftovers!

The team was easy to work with, friendly, and flexible, especially when arranging our pickup. They were even willing to package the tarts in containers we brought, which made things so much smoother for our caterers and really showed how much they care about their customers!

We tried desserts from several places, even big stores like Wegmans, but nothing compared to the unbeatable combination of price, quality, and taste these tarts offered. It was also great supporting a local business on such a special day!

It looks like they have added more options since our wedding, which is so exciting! We can’t wait to order from them again and highly recommend them to anyone who loves delicious pastries and...

I walked into this place to lovely smells and a cheerful greeting. Plenty of delightful treats, from which to choose, were on display. Stacia was on hand to explain how everything was made and how best to enjoy my selections. And, boy, did we enjoy! Everything was so light and fresh. Focaccia, which can be dense, wasn't. It was light and airy, such a lovely surprise. The hubby and I shared each treat, letting our taste buds savor the tirimisu flavor of the Opera Cake, the blueberry of the moist scone, strawberry of the croissant or cinnamonny deliciousness of the icing'd bun. There's a lot more there to be tested, to be sure. Gluten free items are offered and much is made with wheat flour. Again, Stacia is a powerhouse of information. All I know is that I'm going back!!
