We went out of our way to come here for the first time to purchase a duckling because we needed a friend for the one we're fostering! They let us choose which one when we brought the duckling we had in to find the one most compatible. We called in to make sure day of and actually got recommended beforehand days before by Wabash that the ducklings were coming in to Quality Feed. The 2 ducklings we have are growing together and bonded, although they do lowkey fight each other at times but honestly that's expected. Having a 2nd duckling helped with the first one feeling lonely and ducks are social creatures. We bought bedding and feeders for them here, though tbh it's hard to get the ducklings to use them without making a mess but that's not because of the quality of the material here. Ducks are messier and hard to raise lol. And that's coming from having fostered 2 other ducks individually before. We don't think the 2 ducks are the same breed because the one we got here seems mallard derived/maybe Pekin (though he's a mustard yellow) but the one we have might actually be mullard (Pekin or mallard x muscovy). But certainly better than a duckling being alone and having imprinted too hard on humans and it's a hard ask when we're unsure of the breed ourselves because we couldn't find...
Read moreI've been frequenting this store since I was a very young child, being led by my grandparents (who had chickens). You can find all kinds of feeds, plants and animals here, along with the supplies and tools to care for them. They have lots of stuff for dogs too, including dewormer, flea meds, flea bath, collars and a lot more. It's not a pet store, but if you have working dogs you'll definitely find what you need. Ken and Brian are great guys with lots of experience and knowledge about all kinds of stuff. Ken specializes in bonzai too, which I think is so cool. He even has a special soil made for bonsai trees. If you haven't been, you should check it out. If you're looking to start a garden, start raising chickens, or farming definitely make this...
Read moreThe website gives an accurate description of the knowledge and expertise of the owner, Ken. He was very helpful and makes special mixes of food for each type of bird. Everything was reasonably priced as well. We bought doves and pigeons from him and they have been great. The birds are very sweet and easy to handle. One pigeon is a little more shy and will take a little more work to get used to us, but all the birds have obviously been cared for well. Ken was willing to answer any questions I had, and was very patient and helpful. We live south of Houston, so we're almost an hour away, but we will be returning because this is not your average feed store. The drive...
