I heard about Khoi as being one of Houston's best BBQ joints with an added Vietnamese spin on things. I decided to give it a try on Saturday to see what all of the fuss was about. I had lived in Vietnam for 13 years so was curious about the fusion of Texas BBQ and Vietnamese flavors.
I arrived early at 11:00am and a line had already started. I ordered many different items off of the menu such as brisket, Beef Dino rib, pork ribs, the wagyu ribs, beef rib curry, whole hog rice, and pho. The girl taking my order was very friendly and cordial. I ordered the food to go. I read on a few earlier reviews and I must say the same, that I was expecting more 'Vietnamese' flavors in the meats. I don’t mind that because I want my food as freshly made as possible. I’d say it took about 30 minutes or so. There’s a covered section to sit and eat, but it gives more of a to go place if you are just getting meats, but for the pho, I’d sit. It’s in an undeveloped part of downtown and there’s no parking lot, so you’ll park on the street and walk over, which isn’t a big deal. I’d def come back, and will be coming back to try the pho as some man was going on about how good it was, so we kinda...
