I visited a few years ago and today was my 2nd visit. Trail is easy; half boardwalk, half hard pack dirt with minimal roots and rocks. It's all woodsy, but toward the last portion of the hike you'll walk through a boardwalk corridor of mulberry bushes (I think?). By that time I was more than ready to see a clearing. It's muggy and buggy in summer. Be sure to wear mosquito repellent! They need to add a couple benches along the way for us less in shape/older hikers who need to rest hips and backs, lol. Better park for autumn and winter to avoid humidity...
Read moreA well-maintained park. However, the trail doesn’t offer much variety (a simple loop through bland wooded areas for half the journey), and is surrounded by busy streets so traffic noise is non-stop.
I did sight a considerable number of birds however: red-winged blackbird, goldfinch, lots of swallows, a robin, and a hawk on the way out.
Perhaps a nice break for people working at one of the many industrial companies in the immediate vicinity, but if you’re looking for quiet, solitude or scenery,...
