Hudsonville Lanes — Attraction in Hudsonville

I would be giving 0 stars if I could!! I planned a party here for my boyfriend 30th. 3 months ahead! I know around this time of the year everything books up fast so I book in Mid January to make sure we can get into the places we want! My daughter’s and boyfriend’s birthdays are 3 days part! I have been planning there birthdays for 5 years now!

I had 30 guests attending this party and books the party room plus 6 lanes to bowl on! Party was supposed to be from 5-9pm. I called in the middle of February to make sure everything was still good. Got confirmation that everything was booked and we would be all set for this party. I called Thursday of this week to get pricing for people and ask for a time to arrive to set up the party room before 5. I was told I can arrive 30 mins before. All good….. Day of the party I show up to get in the room to set up. The owner walks in and greets me, says he’s there for anything I may need and says he needs to check the time for our lanes! Comes back about 10 mins later (as I’m decorating) to tell me that we have the lanes from 5-6:45! That they have League bowling from 7-9 and we wouldn’t be allowed to bowl after 7. I was NOT told about leagues going on. (I would not have booked here if I would told this) The owner says we can still be in the room from 5-9 still but we couldn’t bowl! Whats a bowling party with no bowling! 3 months in advance and not one person told me they had leagues going on. Not one person told me we only had lanes from 5-6:45! I had to figure out on the fly what to do for 30 guests with food and a place to go! AT 5 when the party started!

My husband and I had our wedding reception here . Let me just say, Doug the owner and all the staff for that matter were amazing to work with. They made it so easy for me . We rented the whole place out on a Saturday, for a very reasonable price !! The staff helped arrange and set up tables, as well as take things down the evening after the reception was over, without us even asking for their help. They were so willing and happy to help. We had about 115 people at the reception, and so may of our guests told us how much fun they had. Doug let me play the music I wanted, have the caterer I wanted, do whatever I wanted with decorations, and drinks. I cannot stress enough how accommodating they were . They made everything so easy for me . The staff was so polite to all my guests. I had an issue with my laptop when we were trying to get the music set up before the reception. It would not play the music I had downloaded and prepared. The staff member that was there at the time, got out his personal laptop and personally downloaded all the songs I had on my playlist to his computer one at a time, so that it was ready a few hours later for my reception. He went the extra mile . Would highly recommend Hudsonville lanes for any party, but makes for a super fun...

We had a birthday party scheduled at the bowling alley 5 weeks ahead of time, confirmed it repeatedly ahead of time. We got there to set up and nothing the young man who first said he was the manager then when we asked for the owner magically he was him as well even though that kid was most likely not out of high school told us sorry there are leagues tonight. We tried to come to a happy medium and the young man would not compromise at all. Had 30 people coming and he wouldn’t even let us have 1 lane. He told us he would try to get us a room at another establishment even though we repeatedly told him everyone wanted to bowl. No compromise on their end at all just basically the you’re s$&@ out of luck mentality. Definitely lost the business of at least 30 people after this treatment. Very...
