Good service with average food.
Went tonight on a double date. Our friends were already seated at a booth which was nice since some places make you wait for the whole party.
Ordered drinks and dinner. My Dos Equis was cold and on par with everywhere else. My wife got a margarita. I normally taste hers and ask how it is, but oddly tonight I didn't. She didn't comment on the drink and only drank about half. On a great drink there is normally an "Oh my God" from her and then she shoves it across the table towards me. I suspect it was average tonight.
Food came out quickly and was hot during the dinner rush. I got steak tacos with beans and rice. I agree with other reviewers that the food was somewhat bland. The chips and salsa before the main course was like most other places in the area and did not stand out. The meal wasn't bad, but definitely wasn't amazing.
As we left people were ackwardly crowded near the front and waiting next to tables of people eating. I wouldn't want to dine at those particular tables.
All in all it was a decent meal. I liked the decor... less "cheesy" than other local Mexican joints. I would come back to see if I could bump this score up...
Read moreThis new restaurant I tried had some of THE BEST grilled chicken I have ever had!!! I'm a picky eater and deal with some food allergies (*Note- if you don't like peppers almost all of the mixtures/seasoning is pre-prepared.) However, even though I don't necessarily care for spicy food, I had ordered plain corn tortillas with grilled chicken, mixed with real shredded cheese, carmelized onions and some other options on the side. So simple and yet it was AWESOME! I took pictures of the indoor space and there is outdoor seating, it just wasn't very busy when I took the picture (we ate there post traditional lunch time). There are also some other restaurants tucked into the new apartment building which can be seen from Chicago drive. Little ole' downtown Hudsonville is finally offering restaurants and you don't have to deal with the craziness of 44th Street/Rivertown Parkway/Mall traffic where the average seating time is an hour or more for all of those restaurants along that route. This is a great restaurant. My husband and I are interested in restaurants we have not been to. I hope you enjoy your meal as much as I...
Read moreI aklm always suspicious of a Mexican restuarant whose house specialty is chicken tenders and French fries...but most of the choices were on par with our expectations. Our visit was sort of a mixed bag, first the good: the food was tasty and masterfully cooked we were seated right away and the restaurant was nice our waitress was very nice and patient as we scoured the menu
Now the not good: the food lacked some of the depth I am used to in well prepared Mexican food my wife did not get what she ordered, to be fair we did not bring this up to the waitress as we were not interested in hanging around and waiting for what she ordered to be prepared we both ordered waters, I know it's a bar and grill bit we don't drink, neither of us ever received a refill, not the end of the world but a refill would have been nice the paper towel dispenser in the mens room is in the worst spot possible, I took a door to the face while waiting for it to dispense a paper towel
All things considered, I would not complain...
