This place is awesome for large groups of children it is almost like a gated community once they are in there. The discovery area offers a wet and dry sand area to play in so bring extra clothes if you plan on getting messy to say the least. The other playground equipment is well-maintained and actually on recycled rubber to provide a better experience than the normal wood chips Etc. There are full Park amenities and restrooms within walking distance of this area. I can't speak for the whole park as we were only in the discovery area. Will be going back to check the rest of everything out and the expectations are high. With the maintenance equipment and the things that we're going on it's a no-brainer that the rest of the park is up-to-date and well kept. If parents pick up after their children and the children pick up after their parents we can all learn a lot and keep things clean so the people that work at these places can keep the grounds and equipment in working order. There are plenty of trash receptacles and places to put your hot ash after cooking. I hope this review will help people make informed decisions thank you...
Read moreOne of the best kept, accessible and fully utilized city parks I've seen, truly a gem that Huntley should be proud of! It's GREAT place for families, groups and events, the space is very well planned and maintained. There are picnic areas, grills, pavilions, playgrounds, fishing, sports fields, walking trails, MANY Pokémon stops and gyms, meeting facilities, park district offices, the city pool and much more - and I'm not even a resident! Lots of events at the park, too - our pet rescue participates in the "Bark in the park", and there are fairs, craft shows, and other events throughout the year. My only minor negative is that they could use more bathrooms. Parking can be a bit crowded on the Rt. 47 side, particularly on beautiful weather days, but there is PLENTY of parking with easy access to the Main area from the west side of the park (where the Park District offices, Pool and sports...
Read moreThe park is great. *IF anyone happens to see this goose, please help it.
I'm very disappointed with the local Wildlife Resources contact and Animal Control.
There's a Canadian Goose with some netting stuck on its beak and no one is willing to help. Supposed "Wildlife Resource" literally told me, twice, "We don't rescue animals" This, only after she kept repeatedly and rudely cutting me off as I was trying to talk.
I called local Animal Control and their recording specifically states to call Wildlife Resource concerning Wildlife. But they don't want to help, at least not whomever answered the phone.
Just as a side note, I also found another local animal humane phone number that shows "open 24 hours* (on the map search anyway), but no one answered and I tried for a long time. It doesn't even go to voicemail.
So sorry, Goose. I tried. Hopefully someone ELSE at Wildlife Resource will...
