A bit harder to access these days since the construction began and streets/old routes were closed but still a Chicago favorite for South Siders searching for peace and quiet who long to be in nature. Well manicured green open spaces near the lakefront and good park facilities. Missing the days it used to be more accessible and welcoming to native residents who on average don't get to the lakefront as often as their counterparts on the north shore. More restrooms are needed in the general park area since we have longer walks and commutes to and thru the park. Perhaps the new park updates will have that in store for those of us who have been enjoying Jackson Park for generations. Always appreciate the extra curricula programming and summer jobs for youth who really need them at the park fieldhouse, which can also use some updates with all new developments happening there and we hope they remain and continue to grow. Could be more ADA accessible or designed with seniors or those with limited mobility in mind for future projects. Since parking and a longer commute to the lakefront is a new issue perhaps we can find ways to shuttle nearby native residents to their favorite spots in this wonderful park and it's adjacent beaches once the area gets...

Read more60 years ago The Museum of Science and Industry was the premier museum in Chicago. virtually every school kid came on a class field trip twice, if not more, by the time they finished 6th grade.
The biggest and best Museum has doubled down and totally incorporated technology, electronics video and space age technology. It's absolutely really cool, a totally super experience, even for old geezers like me (68) who were tired of the museum at age 12 after 5-6 field trips. Now it's a whole new, super experience for anyone and everyone. The special effects, technology and vast array of exhibits would leave most professionals in awe. There is so much to see and do it really deserves 2 full days, at 6 hours per day. This is guaranteed to be fun for everyone with 1 caveat: You must be able to do lots of walking, or have someone to push your wheelchair.
There is food service, but it's worth it to Bring food, and certainly a stroller if you have...
