Nice park, but the camping situation is a bit bizarre. It seemed that the campground host lets her family have free reign over the entire park. Site 6 had not been reserved, but the host's son in law was using the site & picnic table as his personal fishing/hangout area (even though camping at a different site). We inquired if it was available to which he responded it was and we expressed interest in wanting to pay to stay. We asked how long he would be fishing (occupying the entire site) to which he responded with an indefinite amount of time & that he was being nice saying we could pay for the site but anyone could fish. In my experience that is not common practice for how campgrounds work. Since we weren't really in the mood for sharing a site with someone with a passive aggressive attitude we decided to move on. There was also someone using the dump station to wash their vehicle. I'm not sure where there is any accountability for the campground host and find it to be such a shame to have a park that has "tourist" in the name, but seems to be a far cry from being welcoming in the...

It's well kept and a nice place to have a picnic, or wade in the boat dock area, but I wouldn't recommend wading in the shallows unless you have shoes on because a lot of fish hooks get snagged there. There is a drop off though so watch your kids and make sure they have on a life vest even for wading. Water birds frequent the area.

Today there was a big rock chuck grazing on grass and that was cool. There's plenty of room to play some frizbee or boat if you have one.

There are numbered campsites that have stand alone iron grills and one or two with a fire pit. Picnic tables in some areas, but not in every site. One or two benches in a few spots, a small playground and his and hers bathrooms.

Fishing isn't bad in the evening or morning when the water's calm. Okay to swim off the docks when there's no boats, but not without shoes.

Overnight camping is okay for one night only and a fee, but wouldn't nowadays unless you have a locked place to sleep because there's a trailer park close by were a stabbing took place a few years back. I would recommend for daytime fun for sure,...

Stayed nearby at the Idaho Falls Luxury RV park and walked the dog thru South Tourist Park 3 or 4 times. The place was nearly empty, even on the Tuesday after Labor Day. While there are some nice spots and the grass and shade are really nice, this place could be so much more. Saw a few cars that may have been people living in them. Some of this place butts up against rental housing that looks like it should be condemned. Didn't go in the restrooms so can't speak to that. But many of the fire rings we walked by were full of garbage and they stayed that way all week. It sucks that campers leave crap like that behind, but isn't it the camp host's responsibility to clean them up? Also, along the river front, there are big sections of concrete, presumably to be shore barrier at some point. But now they are kind of dislocated and strewn about some. $40 seems pricey for camping here. On the plus side, the boat launch and dump both...

Nice, quiet, wonderful wonderful host , the only sad part is that some of the guest staying don't give her or the place the respect that's due. We really enjoyed ourselves love the bike/ walking trails the water ... just sorry we showed up a day before they closed for the season.. we didn't get to say gd bye to the host when we left.. but we really wanted to say your awesome & thank you for letting us enjoy your camp ground.. may you have a great next season 🙏 😊

This place is a masterpiece. They've redone a big section of the greenbelt in the last few years and completely revamped the Chinese gardens at the Taylor's Crossing bridge. I get inspired Everytime I go there. It's definitely worth your time to visit. The rock structures are impressive and I thank all the people who worked together to produce this inspiring work of art. It blends the worlds of man and nature very gracefully.
