I love to spend my weekend mornings jogging (or walking) amid beautiful surroundings. Openlands Lakeshore Preserve definitely fits the bill. It's a beautiful mixture of forest, beach, and even art. There are a couple of paved trails that are great for jogging or biking, but I recommend taking the stairs down to the beach and just absorbing the beautiful view. Do want to mention that the preserve is a work in progress (IMO). Mother Nature has taken her toll, and the Openlands are doing a fantastic job restoring this beautiful place. Great views, pretty trails, interesting beaches, and never too many people. My dogs and I go all the time.
FYI They do have a port-a-potty, but no other services (i.e. a sink) and definitely not designed with disabled people in mind. I don’t think there’s any way for a wheelchair to get down to the shore....
